For those wanting to have an Avatar next to their name...
Step by step instructions... Here we go...
Restrictions :
*File must be under 80x80 pixels
*Flie must be smaller than 6k
How-To:
1) Goto http://www.google.com
2) Click the "Images" bar under the Google logo.
3) Click "Advanced Image Search" to the left of the search box
4) Under the "Size" option change "any size" to "icon-sized"
5) In the first serch box labeled "related to all words" enter your query(search)
6) Press Enter :D
7) Search until you have found an image to your liking
8) Right-Click on the image that you want and goto "Save Picture As."
9) Save it in a directory you know you can find again.
10) Make sure you enter this URL into Internet Explorer (no Netscape) identical as follows or you'll be seriously confused
--- ftp://MALLARDUSERNAME:PASSWORD@mallard.auburn.edu
--- Replace your mallard user name(your email address ??@auburn.edu) and your password before the @ sign and after the : colon...
--- For example... You user name is hokie and your password is yatzee you would enter ftp://hokie:yatzee@mallard.auburn.edu
11) You'll now see a directory listing.
12) Double click on the directory labeled "public_html"
13) Drag and drop your saved image (remember you know where you saved that image right?) into the window of "public_html"
14) Hit the F5 key or click Refresh to make sure that file is in your public_html directory.
15) Remember the exact file name. For example "logo.jpg" or "ricer.gif". Write the file name down... You'll need it...
16) In the address bar of the browser type exactly
--- http://www.auburn.edu/~MALLARDUSERNAME
--- As in the previous example http://www.auburn.edu/~hokie
17) If you see a directory listing click the image you uploaded. If you can see this image without a permission error skip to step 38.
18 ) If you see a webpage after your mallard user name in the address bar add this text "/UPLOADEDFILENAME". e.g. "logo.jpg" or "ricer.gif". Make sure to include the extension.
19) If it says you don't have permission to view the file keep reading. :D
20) If when you attempt to enter the URL "/~MALLRDUSERNAME" you get a "You don't have permission error" keep reading.
21) OK. So the file is upload but, you get a permission error.
22) Goto Start -> Run -> "telnet"
23) Windows 9x users: Goto the menu item "Connection" and click "Remote Connection"
24) Windows 2000 users: At the prompt type "open"
25) Win 9x in the "Host Name" box type "mallard.auburn.edu"
26) Win 2k at the "(to)" prompt type "mallard.auburn.edu"
27) Hit Enter :D
28 ) Damn this is getting long. Can you give me a 4-foot wing for my pimp ride?

If you don't.. You screwed up... Go back and try step 22-27 again..
30) Now enter your mallardID at the login and hit enter
31) Now enter your mallardID at the password prompt and hit enter
32) A Bunch of crap will fill the screen. Hit enter once or twice until you see
mallard(USERNAME)1:
33) Now type exactly "chmod 755 public_html" and hit enter
34) Now type exactly "cd public_html" and hit enter
35) Now type exactly "chmod 644 UPLOADEDFILENAME" and hit enter
This is the file you dragged into the Explorer windows (Your avatar)
i.e. "logo.jpg", "ricer.gif"
36) If you see any error messages (i.e. something showed up after your hit enter aside from mallard(username)1: you screwed up again. Go back and make sure you typed in "public_html" and your file name correctly and included the proper extension. If it was a .gif file make sure you typed .gif or if it was a .jpg a .jpg was typed. And cApItAlIzAtIoN counts here. As in "ricer.gif" will not work if the file is "ricer.GIF"
37) In your web browser goto "http://www.auburn.edu/~MALLARDUSERNAME/IMAGENAME".
--- for example "http://www.auburn.edu/~hokie/ricer.gif
--- or "http://www.auburn.edu/~hokie/logo.jpg
And you can see you image. GREAT. Write down or put the FULL URL in your clip board by highlighting the entire URL, right-clicking and choosing "Copy".
If not?... Go back to step 22 and make sure you follow all the directions carefully. If you can't get by this step PM me and I'll try to help you.
37) If everything is copasetic (http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=copasetic) at this point your almost done.
38 ) 8) Hang in there...
39) Goto "http://aspeedracing.com/forum" [ The message board ]
40) Click the "Login" button if you are not already logged in and log in.
41) After you are logged in click on the "Profile" button.
42) Scroll to the very bottom the the "Profile" page and you'll see a box labeled "Link to off-site Avatar:"; Paste (right click in box and choose "Paste" ) or type in your URL to the image (i.e. "http://www.auburn.edu/~hokie/logo.jpg", "http://www.auburn.edu/~MALLARDUSERNAME/FILENAME")
43) Click "Submit"
44) Your fucking done...
45) Goto a post that you have made and Refresh the browser window and make sure your Avatar shows up. If it does good.. If it doesn't... Good Luck :D

This is as detailed as I can describe the proccess. If you need my help pretty much all I'm gonna do is describe the exact same thing to you as I wrote it here.... Linux users: If you can't figure out how to do this on your own please type "rm -rf *.*"...
