Chappy, go ahead and chunk that Bosch BOV. They work for about 3 months @ 10psi. Plus, brand new they are $45...and most people would GIVE you their's. We building a stock pile of them.

I made a post in Cars-ce, Jess, in case ya want to do a follow-up on what I posted.

I left with:

A Starion.................................................................................steering wheel center piece and some kind of hairdryer/fan off a Datson 280. Shutup, I was sunstroked before Chappy or Jess got there.

I have a nasty sunburn. It was fun though.

BTW, while we are on the subject of factory I/Cs, I have NO IDEA how those engines survive with those small, poorly built I/Cs (with exeption to the volvo I/C which is HUGE).

are you gonna sell the turbos on ebay for 200 each?!?!?!?!?

You are always welcome to the turbos that were left there. Jess and Chappy know about those hard to reach, seized up, POS turbos we decided not to mess with.

Here is an idea of exactly what we ran across. Remember the amount Jess and Chappy paid for everything:

I've been running a Bosch 710N valve on my Stage III car for 40K miles, works great. From an engineering standpoint they are superior to standard piston valves in many applications. They have a larger cross-sectional area than nearly any piston valve in the market and are far less likely to hang open or closed. All this hype over divertor/blow off valves is a way for Volkswagen guys to spend money on shiny piece of metal to go under the hood. Guys at the vortex are sheep.

But I like the sound. :|

I went through 2 710N's in 20K. I got a good deal on a Forge 007P, so I took it.

You silly VW guys. Chappy's got a stock motor. He'll be running 4-6psi.

Yeah, it was fun but i feel like shit today. I almost fell asleep in Outback last night and the back of my neck hurts like a mofo.

The sunburn on my neck is giving me problems. The gash on my thumb from pulling out the Isuzu I/C isn't very comfortable.

What I/C does Chappy plan to run (knowing he will never see this thread)?

So, so true. I miss the o l d vortex when there were only 4k people when I joined. The 1.8T forum was a good place to discuss lots of technical aspects of the engine. Then the 1.8t hit the golf/jetta scene and has been the bov/nos/aftermarket dv/I can make my own turbo kit (oh wait, I guess i can't)/ECS "Race" valve crew. I need to go over there and start tauting some lunar realestate as dust from it allows you to run 25 psi on a k03 all the way to redline, because as you on vortex, its PSI that makes all the difference
