I'm just speechless...
It looks like no one showed up to play.
maybe they should put the defense out there to see if they can score a TD.

They should take them all out back and beat 'em...and then make every damn one of them carry a football 24/7 for the next WEEK.
whitney's brother said they did that all this past week.. all the RB's carried a ball at all times.

fucking 3-2
wtf
good lord... that was the ugliest win I have ever seen in my life... we are going to get raped by LSU if our offence can't figure out how to correctly function.
and why in the world are the moron commentators talking about pugh being the one that was hurt?? It was bosley cause he got hurt and was moved from center to tackle. right?

Those commentators are fucking idiots. When tate ran the ball, they said "Mississippi Tate." They didnt know any of the players names and they constantly fucked up. I was about to stab myself in the eye with a spoon.

All I can say is that I hope Auburn learns from this and steps up next week. Otherwise it is going to get UGLY against LSU.
Even as a Bama fan it pained me to watch this game. The Defense was clicking, but I've seen better offense at a Peewee football game.
As a side note, I hope that Lester gets better quickly. That injury was nasty looking.
I can't even recall the last time I saw Auburn held to only 3 points...

Flip that, reverse it.
Bosley was center who got moved to tackle and was SEC O-lineman of the week last week. As far as I know there is nothing wrong with Pugh...outside of being on a line that cost the team about 70-80 yards in penalties; chalk up them saying he had a bum shoulder to the usual incompetent ESPN announcing.
I listened to the game on the way up here. I was a good thing that I was alone in the car. I would have made a sailor blush. Then coming in and hearing Bob Davies on TV just made it worse for the last 2 minutes.
I cannot find the words how for how bad the offense was tonight. I've never seen a more embarrassing win. But our defense is crazy. Opposing teams have converted on 3rd down just 7 out of 46 attempts so far. Miss. St was 0-14 on 3rd down...
Not going to mater a bit if we cannot put points on the board. Season starts next week; hope they find the offense before then.
Also from a text message I got on the way up: FUCK THE FUCKING SPREAD if we cannot put our head down and get 3 fucking yards.

All I can hope is that this gives some serious motivation for these guys to prepare for LSU- and maybe makes it hard for LSU to take Auburn seriously.
But that's a real stretch, not much good to take from this week except the W.

Ohio State probably wont drop that far and Bamas not going to move up that high. They beat Western Kentucky...not exactly a quality win. UGA should also remain number 2. They might get jumped due to the USC game. And what about ECU? Currently 14th and you're dropping them out?
I do agree that Penn State should move up. They look damn good this year and the rest of the Big 10 better be nervous.

They look damn good this year and the rest of the Big 10 better be nervous.Ohio State should drop behind all the conference leaders that are still undefeated. I'm probably pretty close. Keep downplaying UA's wins..... I'm sure you guys will do that all season. Remember last week when you guys couldn't believe they looked just alright against a weak Tulane team? That "weak" Tulane team gave ECU hell and had a chance to win it on a last minute possesssion, hence the reason ECU slightly fell in my rankings. They scored 4 touchdowns on ECU, and 0 on UA. UA's 1st O scored on every offensive possession they lined up for last night. I don't care who you are playing, that kind of consistency is hard to find. Thank god the offensive line is all back. UA is also in the top 5 in nearly every defensive stat while leading the country in Rush Defense. While my prediction may not be 100% accurate with the poll that's released today, it's not meant to be--it's a combination of what I assume will be polled and what I think should. At minimum AU should drop 1, and UA should move up 1. Wisconsin looked like shit too. There are no words for Auburn's offensive production last night, and it's up to the pollsters where they wind up.

im glad you guys are finally gonna start playing some real football games this next weekend. i dont think we know anything about your team for real until you start playing in the SEC. arkansas may be one of the weaker teams but that doesnt matter cause weak SEC=strong anything else. look at the teams that already started playing in conference: south carolina lost to vandy after winning 34-0 first game. GA got a scare from south carolina after dominating their first 2 games. auburn and miss st both suffered through one of the roughest games i have seen in a while (we still technically shut them out as far as im concerned though). these stupid cupcake games make winning look easy but when you get in conference its gonna be a different story.

this is the last thing im gonna say in this thread and im not even gonna read it anymore so dont bother replying directly to me but: clemson was shit from the beginning. its obvious to everybody now. espn says all the time that the acc is arguably the worst conference in the nation. ECU got ranked that highly because they beat some teams everybody EXPECTED were good. whether or not they really deserve that ranking has yet to be seen. and your "win" against tulane was even sloppier than ours against miss st. you lost to them in every statistic of the game except the score (which i know thats the only one that counts so save your breath). i like to call that dumb luck. miss st isnt a cupcake. i hope you dont expect to just roll over them cause that will result in another big L Like the one you got when you pLayed them Last year. to end on a positive note fully acknowledge that bama is much better than anybody expected this year. im just not ready to give them a top 10 spot yet...auburn doesnt appear to deserve it either at the moment.

I'm going to directly reply to you. We will find out who deserves to be in the top 10 next weekend on the UA/AU matter. We could go back and forth on how good this beaten opponent is, who they played, etc. BUT, all that matters is the game in front of you.
Also, if you guys haven't heard--Gameday will be on the Plains this weekend!

I like to try to keep an open mind myself. I was implying that I think it's funny that people can be biased to the point they can disregard the fact that their rival school has thus far appeared to be a rising threat. For some reason people like to think that a coach, who has been very successful in the past, will not have the same effect on the team he/she is currently coaching.
Sorry if that sounds/reads a little confusing, but I am trying not to be so specific. I am sure the same situation can be applied to several different sports. I am not sport savvy enough to think of any examples off the top of my head, but maybe everyone can get my point without blowing up.

College Football is in Saban's blood. From the ultra complex defensive schemes, too the recruiting, & the assistant coach selection--he knows what he is doing. That's not something you have to observe to understand. LSU having 30-40 draft picks over the last 4 years is something else to consider. Saban has recruited every player that has made an impact at LSU since their uproar started with the 03' NC season.

Until the BCS it's the national poll though... so how meaningless can it be? If anything the BCS will be more in favor of UA's production beating a top 10 team on opening weekend like a rag dog. Keep in mind that computer system doesn't understand that Clemson was overrated.

the BCS is a joke. I've said way to many times. To many good teams have been left out of the National title Way more teams than Auburn when we went 13-0. It should be playoff system. I just don't know why they don't do it.

If the BCS came out right now, UA & AU wouldn't be next to each other in the poll, & that's final. So there isn't an argument that Alabama wouldn't be in the top 10 in the BCS. It doesn't matter though until that poll is released. I'd like to think that both Auburn & Alabama will be 4-1 though when it's released. I'm predicting an AU loss to LSU and a UA loss to Georgia.

I just don't know why they don't do it.Before they impose a playoff, there should be a mandatory Conference Championship game within every BCS conference as the ticket to the "dance". It would be a 6 or 8 team tournament setup just like the NCAA basketball tourney, but even then someone will be left out. There is no solution to the being left out problem.

The auburn game played out almost exactly how I thought it would (well, a little lower scoring than I predicted, but a defensive beat-out none-the-less).

The Clemson one was an easy pick. It was 50/50 to people I talked to about the game. I personally thought Bama would win, but not like they did.
I was surprised the media bias for OSU dropped them that far. I think they deserved to be ranked low, but I didnt think it would happen with the way the media sucks on OSU's scrotum.
I'm extremely excited about the LSU game, and the afterparty. I just hope Im not exhausted for the 4 kegger!

I think this Saturday will be a whole lot like the 2006 game, with the winning team being the team that scores a single touchdown. We're lucky that we 'survived' the Ms St. game, but we're still 3-0 which is better than the 1-2 start of last year. I think ole Tuberville will light a fire under their ass this week and our team will be ready to play.
