 thats actually what i heard. which..... i mean think about it, it can't be more unrealistic than the first one. so it can only get better. i heard there was less rice in it if that is possible.

Yeah, they definately canned all of the technical talking about the cars and hardly showed any engines. There is some magazine, I think SCC, that has all the stats for the main cars. pretty interesting to see that I'm still faster than the evoVII (15.3) and the RX-7 (14.6) in the movie. There were only two things I found that were wrong as far as the technical side goes:
1. For some reason all of their analog gauges would shoot up whenever they hit the NAWS switch. Like the boost would suddenly go from .5 bar to 1.5bar when they did it. and all of thier Naws buttons had "N2O" labels that looked like someone put them on with a label maker.
2. The turbo sounds were completely off most of the time, like they would be hitting compressor surge when they would shift at redline.
I'm sure there were many more I just wasen't paying that much attention to it. It had a lot more suspense and action than the 1st one.
Who wants to go see it tuesday before or after the meeting, it's student discount night? $5 tickets

They did put a lot more emphasis on turbos, and "NAWS" didn't last for eternity. Pay special attention to the Skyline when it first shows up and revs.
Overall, it wasn't that bad. Yes, you should go see it. Yes, it does have an effect on stupid people still. When I left the theater, I heard a few young kids say, "Man, I feel like racing now" as they stepped into a Ford Ranger. :( There is something suppose to be on NBC nightly news tonight about street racing and this movie. I am going to make an effort to watch it. 8)
