SEC reviewed it and said the referee was making a defensive move to protect himself, and called it 100% by the book. It says that referee's have ground over the runner.

I'm sorry but what kind of "defensive move" was that lol? The ref definitely gave the QB an intentional shoulder check if you ask me.

What did you expect, the referee to be assassinated?

No, but instead of getting caught right in the middle of a developing play and disrupting it he should have just jumped out of the way or fell down like most refs do. The is never any reason to push a player furthermore as a ref you know that if you get in the way of a play your better off going to the ground instead of trying to push off or block one.

I broke a ref's leg in high school because the fucker was always in the middle of a developing play. Every time the play came to his side he was between me and the ball carrier. I asked him after the third time if he would mind moving out of the way because he was the reason why I couldn't get to the ball carrier. Bad move number 1: told me to just run around him. Bad move number 2: When I contested what he said to my Coach and the coach told him he was going to file a report...the ref then told me that just because I complained he was going to make sure to stay in my way. Bad move number 3: He tried is dead level best to stay in my way...so when the next play broke to his side and I was barreling down the field in his direction and yelling "move move move" he turned and squared up to me and went into ready position. Not trying to be a hard ass but I sent the guy to the hospital after hitting him going full speed and and fracturing his tibia in three places as well as giving him a concussion.

Moral to the story is, if you are a ref, stay the fuck out of the way. If you get caught on accident, don't try to be a fucking hero. When an accident happens like that don't pull out the SEC rule book and back up a poor decision just accept it apologize and move on. If I were the full back, after a play like that I would be head hunting that ref for some retribution for my team...

Hahaha I would have loved to get in that refs face right after you hit him and said you just got knocked the fuck out!!

But seroiusly, I agree and it is in fact quite ridiculous for a ref to do that.

I think it was just a bad judgement on the referee's end....i think he was trying to jump in between the players and got caught; kinda like moving out of the way for a bicycle really fast coming your way, and in the same time made it even worse...
