View Full Version : 11.65@124.81
New best at SDR today. The DA calculated out to -540', but honestly, my car didn't feel all that great considering the weather. It felt way better at Steele last weekend and it obviously was faster because even with some better 60's than last weekends passes, the car was slower for some reason. Matter of fact, it didn't break 125mph all day.....it just kept trapping high 124's:confused: . We did have a 5~10mph head wind that was blowing directly down the track....but I seriously doubt it would have any adverse affect on my mph. I need to get a portable weather station to get trackside weather just for the hell of it.
Slip Breakdown:
60' - 1.917
330 - 5.105
1/8 - 7.659
MPH - 98.38
1000 - 9.837
1/4 - 11.652
MPH - 124.81
As evidence by the fact that my car didn't feel as strong, I usually pick up right at 28mph on the big end. I didn't do it on any of my slips today:confused: . I had a bit of knock on the pass above, not really sure why as the A/F and timing were fine.
My transmission was being a bitch today as well....sounded like the clutch wasn't completely disengaging or something and it made a "roar" noise between every hard shift. It drives perfectly normal on the street....just as smooth as it always been, so I am not quite sure what that is. Its done it too me once before but I don't know whats causing it. Probably the fact that it is a GM transmission. It will get rebuilt stronger if it ever breaks or the syncro's peace out.
Anyways, its a new best so I will take it:steering:
Edit: Oh yea, I also met a dude there with an 06 Supercharged Viper. He had meth injection and all that good stuff. It made 700whp according to him, but he was only running 11.2's@129mph with low 1.9 60's. The cool thing is he lives like 5min from me, so I have a partner in crime around here now lol. Really cool guy who loves beating the crap out of his car.

Good stuff. I mean hell dude if that Viper was only trapping 129 with his setup then I really wouldn't worry all that much about it. At least you pulled a good 60' out of the thing.

Thanks, now I have to run an 11.64 to say that I'm quicker than you. :P
Guess I got my work cut out for me tomorrow. I plan on running *at least* an 11.5x.
Good run, I know that it's got to feel better getting into the mid-11's. Hopefully I'll find out tomorrow. :D
Still got to get the 60' lower. I really want to run in the 11.20 area. That is probably going to take a 1.7X 60'. I am finally starting to get the whole "launching on DR's" thing worked out.
Only thing I am confused about is why the car didn't feel that great today. Last weekend at Steele it felt like a rocket, hence an 11.83@125.22 w/ 2.060 60'. During a different pass today at SDR, I went 11.82@124.98mph with a 1.98 60'. Shouldn't the lower DA mean I should rip my previous time from Steele in half? That really confuses me. Both passes were drama free with very little spinning once hooked and shifts as fast as I could, although the shifts at Steel were much much better as my transmission wasn't being gay.

Maybe the head wind plays a bigger difference than you think?

impressive :pimp:

Its possible...but my car didn't feel "butt dyno" as good as it did last weekend at Steele. Oh well, can't accoutn for everything...

THIS for sure. I would think a head wind of 5mph could create account for a 1mph difference very easily even on a pretty aero slick car like the c6.
I don't know what you are worried about... /kidding
Congrats on your new best!

From looking at your 60'->330'->660', you were spinning a tad, even if you didn't feel it. My car does the same thing sometimes in negative DA weather. The track just doesn't hold as good.
That's probably what it was.

From a roll? When did you start trapping 125?
Update, at 4:40pm, the DA was -540'. This was posted on the MCE forum by some guys with portable weather stations. Wind gusts were up to 15mph. I guess thats probably good enough to eat away some of the difference.

...And I did. 11.623 @ 114.94
1.578 60' on NITTOS...
Time to get some Mickeys...
Congrats man. Maybe one of these days I can get a real 60' out of this car and flex its power muscles lol. If it weren't for the damn wheel hop, it would have already been in the 1.7's/1.6's.
