Was released today. Full CAN flashing and ECU recovery if a problem occurs during flashing. This ECU is MUCH more sophisticated than the Evo 8/9 and they have developed some really elegant tools for it all. This was all done by Colby@Tactrix and a handful of EvoM users who are quite good at dissassembly and control unit logic flow. Unbelievable that this amount of hard work is free to whomever wants it. ROM hacks are certain to begin shortly. It would be amazing to see such a thing for Euro vehicles, but all that RSA encryption makes it not a viable option for those who might be so inclined to do so.

The Evo Xs are showing great power gains from basic bolt-ons. Buschur's personal car is sporting a flash with a stock frame upgraded turbo, cosworth cams, and the usual FMIC, 3" exhaust (stock 02 housing and DP), and injectors. Car makes 450 whp on pure 93 octane, runs 2 more lbs of peak boost than it did from the factory. Power stays within 10 whp of peak power @ 6700 all the way to 8k rpm. Fast car with just a few mods. Pretty cool :)

Seems like you spend a decent amount of time over on the Evo boards. Perhaps you should get one;)

The only thing that I don't like about the X other than some weird proportions (which obviously the 8 had also) is the tranny. The gearing is even shorter than ours and they say its even notchier than before. The good news is that Mitsu stated they built the 5 speed to handle even more power than the old one we had.

I was talking about an Evo 9. You could sell your car, buy a quality Evo 9 with low miles, throw some bolt ons on it/tune it yourself, and bank ~$6k. Then you would have a 114mph+ car on pump and a 120+mph car on race.

Yeah, but for $1300 plus the usual bolt-ons, I'd put an FP Red on it and have a 120 mph car, 130 on race.

I would just keep the Bimmer and slam it on some rims and lip kit and drive until you really start banking

The new Evos are nice though:steering:

I'm not buying another DD anytime soon. If/when I get another Evo, it'll be in addition to what I drive every day.

We need a "McGowin Arguments" section of the forum. :5-0:

I believe that Adam P's post was heavily laced with sarcasm...

How is this an argument?

easy, there are words. Directed words. With feeling. and that only ever happens in arguments.

So I am arguing for Greyson to get an Evo while he is arguing for the same thing?

Haha, I remember when our "discussions" would scare some of our more strange roomies that we had. If you don't discuss with some passion, what's the point.

Atleast the three of you argue about something fun like cars.
I have three brothers who could give dick about anything automotive. We just sit around and argue about which one of us can eat the most at T-giving/Christmas or do the most pull-ups w/ our weak-ass genetics.

I guess thats what aSpeed is for. More "family" to argue about cars with.

Mildly on point: I wonder what the used market for Evo X's is like.

25-27K with little to no miles.
