I just cracked my engine block, and threw a few rods as well. I'm curious if anyone from or around the Auburn/Opelika area knows where I could find parts to a 4.0L I-6 engine. Also, I would like to try to get the engine replaced before SB so I can get home. So, if anyone has a cherry picker, and would let me use it, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm a friend of fly4navy. I go to school here at Auburn. I'm mainly concerned about getting a cherry picker, so my friend and I can get to working on it. If you know anyone that has one, let me know. Thanks.

#1 no...you didn't say the magic word.

#2 you haven't even introduced yourself or given anyone a sufficient ammount of any kind of info to make any one of us want to loan out an expensive piece of equipment.

#3 who the hell are you, how did you hear about us.....AsianfetishZOMGbutsechs.

Guff is cool. He was told to come on here by Dan (fly4Navy) and me and a few others at DAAM last night to see what was available in the area from those more familiar with Auburn/Opelika. His engine failure happened last night.

No prob Guff, we got alot of riff raff on the site so we are all a little sensitive when someone jumps on and starts with demands.

Hang in there I am sure we can find you some help.

Yeah I brought him up to the deck to get some advice. On a scale of 1-10 of just how fucked it is, his engine is about a 9. Huge crack in the block, metal on metal knocking from inside the engine, bleeding oil. It will need to get pulled for sure. I think the only thing it won't need is accessories.

+2 Guff is cool.

Shame this did not happen back in January when I still had an engine hoist at my house.

I have a Ford 400M you could rebuild and put in that jeep. :D that jeep would be a beast off roading with a big block. :D

Cherry pickers are cheap enough from Harbor Frieght that is where I got mine from....if not see if Advance or Auto Zone has one as a part of the loaner tool program. I have one and you are welcome to use it in the Gump, I am not to sure about letting it go to Auburn in fear I would never see it again
