That's linux running on my xBox....

Big deal you say....

Oh... Now I have a media PC (700mhz, 10g HD, DVD, and a geForce3) for only $129.... You beat that...

Stop by our house next year and see it in action.... You'll be amazed what this little box can do. The conceptbehind what I have planned for it is the future for home entertainment systems... Ask someone who's heard me babble about it drunk recently.... hehe

that's cool. step two: HDD hack for more storage. I gotta friend here in montgomery who'd done that and added more ram. A nice cheap (but powerful) gaming rig.

forgot to add that they've actually got custom made ports that take the original game pad ports and turn them into USB ports for keyboard and mouse :o

I'm not gonna swap out the HD for a bigger one...

I'm just gonna use the built in NIC and build a media server w/ 3 200gig harddrives in a RAID 0 set-up and just dump/rip/borrow as many DVD's/X-Box games I can find onto that and share it via relax(software) to my xbox

What mod chip did you get?

Adam

No mod chip....

Soldered 2 points on the mobo to write-enabled the BIOS
Through some black-magic trickery copied linux onto the box
Then used the 007 saved game hack (google for it) to load xlinux

The box was in AU this weekend. A few people on the board got to see it in it's finished form (Ian & Jimmy are the only names that pops into my head immediatly)

I'll let them tell about how cool the finished product and software now running on it is...

was that what you knocked on my door for a few days ago? I was playing vice city with the headphones on.
