Hey, my girlfriend's Audi (2006 2.0T dsg) threw these two codes:

P2004 - Intake manifold runner control stuck open
P0642 - Sensor reference voltage "A" circuit low

Car felt a little slow, less tq, spool hit less hard. It felt like lower boost/power, but the guy at Autozone didn't pull a low-boost code. Also, sometimes right when I lightly tap on the throttle I swear I can usually hear a faint rattle until the turbo spools (then it gets too loud or the noise goes away), but I'm not positive about that.

Any ideas as to what's going on, APR people?

I think it's come and gone before, but I'm not sure. We're about to drive the car for awhile, so I'll find out if it comes on again soon.

Cliffs: Car is fresh out of warranty. How screwed is she? :)

Ross-tech (makers of VAG-COM diagnostic tools) has a WIKI site that is usually pretty helpful with fault codes.

Here is what they have on the codes you got:

P0642 (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/17026/P0642/001602)
P2004 (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/18436/P2004/008196)

After a quick search through VWVortex forums, you might just need a software update on the ECU.

I'm sure Tom will have a little more detailed advise once he sees this thread though.

EDIT:

Upon further investigation, your girlfriend should be covered. There was a TSB on the intake runner flap motor in Feb. 08. Here (http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41373) is a thread that explains it in pretty good detail.

You should be able to go to the dealer and tell them you need the updated part. They should replace it free of charge.

Here is the VW version of that TSB. The Audi one is basically the same... I do not think it is technically under warranty, but I would bitch and moan and call audi customer service if you have to to get it covered.
