Im posting this for Ryan from Cool Cat Racing.
he is hosting a drift event Sunday, Aug 2nd At Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia.
All RWD cars are welcome
Pre-registration - $45
Late/gate registration - $55 if any spots are open, only 40 spots will be filled.
If you sell your spot you need to let me know so I can change the name. I'm not charging for spectators so feel free to come down and watch.
Schedule:
Track will open at 8:30am,
Tech at 9am,
Start at 10am,
End around 6-7 if its jammin and everyone wants to stay we can but not past 8.
Run groups will rotate all day and last 25 mins each. This will give each driver a little over an hour to cool the car down or get something to eat/drink. Ron will probably be there with me selling water/sodas for about $1 but bring whatever you want.
For those who haven't been there before 2 miles farther down I75 is an exit with all kinds of gas stations and a Krystals, McDonalds, and others. I will have 3 fans on the back side of the course to help people cool the cars down between runs so you won't have to sit in grid hoping to cool it down fast enough. The course will be the old SCCA Drift course since that's what most people wanted. Tech will be pretty much standard race tech so make sure your car is in good shape, batteries tied down, no broken lug studs, things like that. If you splooge oil on the track you get to pay for the oil dry which I will have there so that the course doesn't get too slippery. I think I've covered everything, if you have any questions please let me know. If you have any suggestions please let me know as well. Refunds will only be given if the event is cancelled, weather is not a factor, we'll run unless its severe weather. If the weather is too bad to run we'll figure out if a make up date is good or what we need to do.
Please visit the 240atlanta thread if you plan on attending. Instructions for payment are there.
