Anyone else think this is a good idea/necessity? Aspeed members are spreading all over the place, not just Auburn and Atlanta anymore. Just a suggestion :foxnews:

I agree. It's pretty easy too. Just a few lines of code in the "postbit" template I believe (VB 3.8.1 uses postbit_legacy to keep the vertical info bar with the avatar in it, not sure what 3.5 uses lol). Shouldn't be too difficult to figure out and I think if you're not gonna upgrade to 3.8, you could at least add this feature :D Change is good.

First go into the AdminCP and click User Profile Fields>User Profile Field Manager on the left. Find the field for "Location" and note what is under the "Name" column (next to "Display Order", should be "field1", "field2", etc.)

Then you gotta go into the Style Manager, edit templates, find the "postbit" template, and then place the following code (minus the spaces between the < >) wherever you want it to display "Location: xxx":

< if condition="$post['fieldX']" >
Location: $post[fieldX]
< /if >

where "X" is replaced by the field number. Lemme know if you run into any problems.

Adam, not sure if that above works on 3.5 but here is a plugin for 3.5 that ties to googlemaps for shits and giggles.

I was referring to the possibility that vBulletin 3.5 and 3.8 didn't have the same options, assholeee :meatwad:
