I got back into town from Atlanta today to find the gas station at the entrance to my neighborhood has reopened and has E85 for $2.01/gallon. It's a JetPep station located where 2nd Ave hits 280/Gateway Parkway in Opelika, so if you can adjust/tune for it, we have corn juice in the Auburn area. W00T! Auburn is ranked and I have E85 down the street, two great gifts this weekend.

Just like any motor, you just need a fuel system and tune to deliver the 30% more needed compared to gasoline, and you can throw tons of boost and timing at it. So jet up your carb and you're good. ;)

Here's a pretty good thread about running it on the stock turbo:

Basically run a new inline and some 630s for the stock turbo, which just happens to be a perfect fueling setup for a larger turbo later down the road. Performance gains with zero money wasted.
Time to start shopping the classifieds for a used walbro and some injectors...

Aren't there issues with stock fuel system components having issues with E85? Deteriorating and such? Or, is that ethanol? Either way, I would be very interested to run this in my car as a way to lean it out a little (already delivers too much of the dino juice).

whart compression ratio is needed to run E85. I have something like 7.5-7.3 to 1. I can jet my carbs 30% richer if need be

E85 is 85% Ethanol...and yes, it can be tough on fuel system components...at least that's what I understand. I have never run it in my own car, other than the standard 5-10% they put in the 'regular' 87-93 octane pump gas.

CR doesn't matter. The carb is all you'd need to adjust. As for lines, anything that has been running on 10% isn't going to all of a sudden break down on %85. That aspect of E85 is greatly exaggerated. Dodge Stealths haven't been able to withstand enough pressure in dynamic pressure tests to be considered safe to run on E85.

Unfortunately, I've read that a lambodoorretrofit is necessary, but that kind of expensive modification is certainly not for the faint of heart.

I've got one or two floating around if you're serious.

Super serial. Picking up some injectors from Dizzy. I think I'm going to try to get away with the stock pump at first. Since I'm not pushing the 630s hard and staying at 3bar, I think I'll be alright. I'll be in touch if I can't push enough fuel though.

Or I have an 044 I'm not using if you want to go the overkill route. Lol.
