Walker Dynotune in Trussville

Here's the deal. I've reserved Sept. 27 for the dyno day. The hours are from 8:00AM till 5:00PM (possibly 6:00PM). If you want to guarantee a time slot, I'll reserve a 30 min. slot on a first come / first serve basis. You must pay in advance to get a slot. I'm going to charge $50 per slot. If we bring in over $600, I'll reimburse the prorated difference. I'll probably take the first two slots, due to the early hours.

Each slot will include three pulls with graphed HP, TQ, and A/F. Here's a few random pics:

Let me know if you're interested. We'll work out the payment issues.

I'm interested, however I would like to actually tune the car (which involves a little downtime for me), is there no way to get that without spending $100?

maxpsi

Not that I have seen. Most dynos charge $100 per hour. You do get to use the wideband though at dyno days. I bet you could get 3 runs in during a 30 minute period. Reynolds is trying to get one together too, Charlie.

Fuck it, I just need to bring a wideband to the track with me. If I could just get more than 3 runs at MMP.

You'll get the three pulls. I made my three with tuning (simple timing adjustments; see notes on dyno sheet).
If you need more time on the dyno, that'll be no problem. I'm looking at least an hour for my needs. Of course, the cost will be prorated with the time on the dyno.

Any questions about the wideband can be answered by Blake of Walker Dynotune. He's pretty cool and straight-forward about dealing with any special requests you may have.

maxpsi - I hope you make it. I think alot of people would like to see your car on the dyno. I'm getting three turbo Civics to come that day; two D16's and possibly a B18.

I guess you can count me in then. I would prolly want to go last and maybe take up two spots for tuning. I'll wait and see if others want to come first though.

I can bring a wideband. Problem is if I want to change fuel I have to change jets. :x

maxpsi

They'll have a wideband there setup for you to use. Yeah, it isn't really a opportune time to tune. But, if you want baseline numbers and a way to check out your A/F ratio, then this is a good time because you save money instead of going by yourself for a few baseline runs then paying more.

CPMaverick
08-14-2003, 06:13 PM
Yeah, well I can get my own wideband and datalog my A/F ratio, I guess its just not worth the money if I can't have time to change anything.

maxpsi
08-14-2003, 06:41 PM
Correct.
More dyno time = more money.

May be moving the date to the 27th. Let me know what you guys think.

Some RX-7 guys supposedly wanted it for the 20th.

Please get that cleared up. The 27th would be great for me.

I might be up for that, I had some rather unexpected mechanical failures at the track  , but we'll see what a month can do for all that.

word to the wise, don't let anyone re-use used parts when rebuilding your turbo.... bad stuff.

I can probably do that, I might even have my big turbo back on the car by then :)
Just put a bigger cam in the volvo, got the megasquirt stuff coming together now (it involves a lot of guess work on some stuff because its not very well documented in spots), but in the next few days i'll have programmable spark advance/retard as well as the fuel stuff.

Sounds good. Hope you get the bugs (if any) worked out with the Megasquirt.

hehe the bugs are worked out in everything except the laptop  I've got a new toy on order, should be here tomorrow or tues, with tuning to resume then. Lets hope all goes smoothly (doing a timing belt tomorrow if that shows up as well, switched to a bigger cam and i dont wanna frag it right off :) )

Alright people, this weekend is nearing. Even if you don't want to dyno, just drop in and hang out if you like (that is if you're in the area). I'm hoping to get enough people to make the rate $40/3 pulls.

I better see some mofos signing up. Whether you need to tune/dyno or not, 50 bucks isn't much money to some of you. NOW PAY!! Besides, if enough ppl come, and more than enough is made, the extra will be reimbursed back.
