Seriously.. I think the douchebag ratio to evo owner ratio is approaching 98%

I might have to sell this car before I lose my asshole status and get sucked into the flipped baseball cap crowd..

Can't ask a simple fucking question or have any kind of reasonable discussion about something without the peanut gallery chiming in and then getting asshurt when you tell them to butt out. Instead of answering the question, you get a series of "what the fuck did you do that for" or "you must be a goddamn idiot to do that". Yes. Clearly I'm a fucking idiot. That's why my stock block evo makes more power on pump than your piece of shit high displacement lump does on e85.

On a non-joking note; minus a few assholes that Spec clutch thread on EvoM is very classy. Lets hope the majority of the haters stay out and you guys can continue trying to figure out what the fuck is going on.:asshole:

FUCK. They're breeding! Reading comprehension must have gone out the window with grammmmmmmar in the skools these days.

And I've been told everything now. Some dude with a built motor and a bunch of other shit is crowing about how much faster he is than me. Without running his car. I offered to race his buschur built piece of shit in the volvo, but that I'd take the child's seat out so he wouldn't feel so bad

You should have put Lambo doors on your Evo, then they would be nice to you.

Out of curiousity, what was the question?

linuxman51

This was my post in its entirety.

Bit of a carry over from the other site, but more pointed....

for those who've been there and done that, what kind of failure rates exist for VIII-IX input shafts, with respect to the splines?

This is not an issue that I've seen get much press (and who knows, it might not be much of an issue at all, which would then put the onus on other involved parties), but I don't spend all day searching the net for the next broken mitsu part.

Soo... whats up with this? is this something that occasionally happens with big clutches or just something that occasionally happens no matter what?

or is it pretty rare for this type of thing to happen?

inquiring minds need to know

Daggum, I'd be frustrated as hell too.

I have never owned a Spec clutch but have talked to several who have and worked on a number of cars who had them with mixed reviews. Most have said the Spec 3+ was good to go but again that is from my small corner of the world. But, that is neither here nor there as it isn't what you asked. I just hear a lot of negativity for Spec but have never seen it personally. Anyhow, for input shaft issues, I haven't seen too much on 3/Ss (I know that isn't quite the same), most have had output shaft issues. Were there significant changes between the AWD DSM trans and the Evo 8/9 trans?

Wow, the douche is strong with this one...

That Rogue guy has a bigger head than a lot of 12-second F-body guys.

It'd almost be worth driving to Pittsburgh to bust his ass with a RWD car... :P

(this is kenny-- i kiked sam's netbook)

It is frustrating for me just as I'm sure its frustrating for all other involved parties. The transmission is different from the dsm boxes, the input shaft is bigger. Part of the reason I'm asking is I have not heard of this type of thing, but then with a lot of different cars and forums there are dark little secrets that people just sweep under the rug so they don't have to hear about it, etc.

Maybe this is one of them. If so, ya know, so be it. There isnt really anything *I* or anyone else can do about it, so I don't know what the big deal would be talking about it.

Whatever.

In all honesty, the vette crowd is probably worse. You should have seen the responses I got on the Z06 forum when I asked about lowering my car.

I'm sure the responses were similar to the ones on the motorcycle boards when the same question is asked.

Really what do you expect? I dont really give a fuck about evo's so I am not in the "know", but I havent met many people who have them that arent "shop built." IE most of the fucks that own them aren't smart enough to tie their shoe, much less offer any hindsight.

This is the same sad realization I've come to. I guess I expected too much.
