Statistically, since there are thousands of models, by hundreds of makers and I haven't acknowledged the existence of even of 1/1000th of those then yeah. I know about 0.0001% about cars, for me to admit I know less after sitting and that thread for 5 hours is pretty ridiculous. There are pages upon pages of information in that thread that I've read and I never assumed myself to be a car guru. In fact I stated that I knew less than most of the members on this forum at the beginning of the threads revival. In addition I said that I knew enough to work on my car and my friends when they needed it and that's true. I never boasted my knowledge on turbos or an intricate understanding of ITBs. I simply stated that I was interested in having them on my car. So I've "stuck to my guns" and despite how threatening you may have percieved them, they weren't intended to be, I never put your miata on my hit list. But again i'll state, I'm through with that thread. If 50+pages of watching somebody with good intentions be attacked (this thread did start as me trying to help someone), by a bunch of veteran in the field then your a pretty sick person. So i'll rephrase "definitely should" to say "Adam, I would appreciate you unbarring my account, however I would like to keep the VIP badge, even if that means I won't be able to edit my post."

I remember saying that and it DID look better before. You cannot and will not build an LS motor to make 300 chp so yes that's what I was referring to as your ridiculous claim. Now stop talking about your feelings and let's get back to the technical discussion at hand.

Not "a motor", an LS motor with only b16 pistons, off the shelf cams, ITBs, & Hondata. Sure you could build "a motor" that is 300hp....just not with the combo you stated, cuz thats what you stated. That is the "ridiculous" part.
Full-tilt everything you could do to it B18C yea, but not a non-vtec LS motor.
& then you spoke of not having much money, etc etc.......which is why everyone said turbo, & why turbo would make much more sense. To which you rebutted & cast off the idea of turbo completely as if its stupid or crazy by citing "issues" with turbocharging which are simply untrue, which causes people to wonder WTF you're thinking.
Or something like that.

And your claim that an LS motor can't do it on boost without blowing up. And your claim that an LS can't make 300hp on boost for less money. And your claim that ITBs will make your Turbo dirty. And a few more that I can't remember.

Do you really have any idea at all how much is in those, how much $$$ it really took to build those (esp. the 2nd one)? Not to mention those are both B20 blocks, more displacement=more power, especially torque.

"110 octane? i just built mune all motor 13.8 compression and i only pulled 205whp. is that normal?"
"cool my friend just finally bore out his block from 81 to 84 did some resurface and etc now its a 2.0 kills gas like crazy compare to stock haha"
"I don't know. To bore a B18C (GS-R or Type-R) to a 2.0L is going from 81mm to 85mm bore. Shaving 4mm of is crazy on stock sleeves... Even with B18b/B20b rods/crank (passing from 87.2 to 89mm stroke), you still need to bore to a least to 84mm to get 2.0L. Either there is missing info on the vid, the block is going to blow or it's a plain lie. Makes sense?"

JESS, how much money would YOU need to make 250whp on an Integra?
If I were going low-budget..let's see
ebay cast mani $60
Internally gated used t3 super 60 or SR20 T25 or ebay big 16g $200
DSM 450's - cleaned and balanced $100
Chip kit and chip $20
Upgraded fuel pump wiring $20
Oil Lines $85 <--something I never skimp on
Ebay FMIC $40 used
steel piping: $150
couplers, clamps $60
flanges $50
boost gauge $20
clutch $150
muffler $30
resistor box $15
BOV $35
vacuum lines and crap $30
Left out WB02 and chip burner because it's not 100% necessary but staying used would be about another $200.

This is the last time that I will adress anybody who isn't Jess or Adam. Most of you should reread the other thread.
@ZmasterB I've alread stated that the list of mods which included B16 pistons, a GSR head, and cams were the list of mods I was going to do in the near future, because I own all these parts already. ITBs would be the next then I do when I had the funds. If that didn't get me where I wanted to I'll take another step in building the block, when I attain the funds. Until either I get to a step that is too ridiculous to afford or that would be out of my skill set to install on my on. Also B20 is .2L larger than mine, I doubt that will stop me from making 300chp. I cast of the idea of boost not because it's crazy or stupid, but because part of my goal is to do this all motor. Most cars on boost will beat an N/A car, that's a given. I want a motor to motor win.
@Adam. I never claimed ITBs would make your turbo dirty. I said that it was I thought would happen and I even admitted that I may be wrong on that and accepted the fact that I was when Jess corrected me. Go back and read it if you don't believe me. 2nd I've seen plenty of blown LS motors, from people trying to push crazy PSI. I know a LS motor can be prepped for 300hp, but a motor pushing 300 on stock internals will not last forever. If it could, why is every Integra on boost not making 300?

Where do you get these facts? Are they in the fact store on the reduced rack?
A stock motor with 5 hp won't last forever but a properly tuned LS WILL reliably make 300hp. Hell there's a member on here who had one and raped it daily for like 3 years until he sold it.
300hp with boost can cost you less than $1200.
300hp with n/a is going to cost you MANY MANY thousands of dollars, will burn just as much premium gas.
I've had 4 turbo hondas and I've never once for a second even flirted with the idea of doing an all-motor build.

As in singular. It may be possible boost a stock LS and attain 300hp and drive it daily, but for every 1 person you can show me that did this. I can show you ten LS motors in the junkyard from people who tried and failed. Well tuned and built it maybe able to happen ,but something tells me that my first build ever. Will not be the most stable build the world has ever seen.
So for your first build ever, instead of toying with $1k worth of parts you want to sink $5k+ into it and risk breaking exponentially more parts not to mention all of the labor i.e. machine work that's going to be involved.
You can take a look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there but I'd rather take his word for it.
And although this is an entirely different subject but (not to be insulting) but at your experience level you cannot safely handle 300hp in a light car without hurting yourself or someone else.

And although this is an entirely different subject but (not to be insulting) but at your experience level you cannot safely handle 300hp in a light car without hurting yourself or someone else.
I had that feeling as well, which is why I don't mind this build taking a while. I was expecting about a years and a half atleast. I'll work my way up to being able to control the car, by slowly increasing the numbers up until that point. And though it would make more sense to build a $1200 turbo setup rather than do an all motor build. My goal is set to beat a Type R, motor to motor. If I don't reach 300chp, or I beat one before I get to 300chp, i'm done with b-series motors. I'll take my time in building a k (hopefully), or the alternative that just popped into my head woud be an H to B swap.
Well if that's the way you want to do it I guess there's no stopping you but I just think it's silly to spend 5x as much, do 5x as much labor to arrive at the same hp but...whatever.

Well in the end - if you just want a well balanced, all motor car, then an Integra is a good and fun car. You can probably best a Type R's straight line performance NA with your motor very realistically, but it won't be cheap. Hell, after you mod everything else about the car to make it competitive with the Type R, you probably should have just bought one so that it will still be worth what you paid.
BUT I understand the desire to built it yourself and learn - that's a good idea. 300hp N/A is ridiculous (nearly impossible), but if you really want to just match the Type R NA for NA, then that is plausible. 200whp would definitely best a Type R with the right gearing, and I'm sure that's attainable with an LS-VTEC with the right parts. You know it will be a lot more expensive than doing the same with a turbo, and it will be slower, but it's your car. If you like it, you like it.
Being willing to learn and being able to take plenty of shit (like you have hear) means you'll be just fine in the end. Hell, pretty soon you could know more than me (not hard). G'luck.

Your starting to sound more and more like the rest of the people in this thread. I wouldn't address anyone else because it's hard to address so many people at the same time, but now i'm done with jess, so i'll address the next person. You know just as well, probably better than anybody else in here that most turbo cars will beat the brakes off an N/A car. If all I do is build turbo cars, that's all i'll know how to build. For the purpose of learning the more intricate details of learning how a car works, I'm choosing to build a N/A car. Setting the goal to beat a type R, is not b/c I have it out for type Rs. It's to say if I can accomplish better numbers than the Honda engineers with their base, then I've progressed. Your experienced with making high horse turbo setups, if I turbo'd my teg, it would be my first time on my only car and probably not last for five years. or for that 5 months.

I don't think I could afford Insurance on a Type R for one. Nor would that prove anything by me buying a car that's already quick, I wouldn't have learned anything except "how to buy a faster car, that's still a Honda (whooa, upgrade, not really). Second, you continue to mock the paint job on my car, but I've received far more compliments from others than you could debunk in a life time, if they be from ricers then damnit I'm a ricer. You may not like my car, but your not gonna convince me to not like my car. And hypothetically if you did, the way I would choose to get rid of it would involve T-boning your beloved Evo and collecting on my insurance, but no worry for that, because I like my car. Third, who said I'm trying to street race the reason I haven't been in a rush to get rid of my LS motor is because I'm not in any rush to street race, it's dangerous and kinda stupid. I'm more interested in AutoX, but I know my car is slow, so I don't go around competing at events or challenging fast cars. I never claimed my car was fast. I said I would attempt to make it such, ricers can be fast to, look at that AlmostN8kd's Stealth. When I can beat a type r, i'll be confident my car is equipped enough to handle an Auto X event, straight line races are not for FWD cars.

I agree completely, but I'm not really worried about how much money I can make back on the car. To be honest, I've never really been fond of selling my car to anyone for fear that they might "rice" it out more, by putting 22"s on it and double decker wing. By the time I'm done with this car, my next car will be either an E36 M3, or an E46 3series cabriolet. I don't think selling my Honda will help me get that kinda cash in line. But thanks.

Oh gahd, you gonna flame me cuz I called your car fast now. Fast is a matter of perspective, I'm sure your Twin-Turbo motor is much faster than my teg, therefore you are fast, IMO.

No flame, just a question (yeah, I had fun with it). :D I don't consider my car fast so....

I can agree with that.

I had a friend some years ago that had an Integra basically just like yours (it was all one color though :D )........LS, auto, base. It ran 17.4's all night like clockwork.
Sooooooo.........anything faster than 17.4 is fast. Duely noted :physco: ;)
As for your response to my post above(on the last page)......that was better thought out & made more sense than anything else you have posted to this point IMO......but still.......
I give up. *UNCLE!*

I'm a little calmer and well rested today. But just to clarify anything faster than 17.4 is fast to me. Don't show Mario Andretti your 16sec F150 thinkin' your fast, but thanks. And since I understand where ya'll are coming from, i'll upgrade uncle to *truce*

I'm more interested in AutoX, but I know my car is slow, so I don't go around competing at events or challenging fast cars. When I can beat a type r, i'll be confident my car is equipped enough to handle an Auto X event, straight line races are not for FWD cars.
Your car is perfectly able to perform at an AutoX now as it sits today. They have stock classes for a reason. Even with the autotragic, you could go and learn how to *drive* your car, now, with very little effort.
I suggest you go look at the forums at the ALSCCA website. There is a gentleman who ran his 1st gen Integra bone ass stock for years in H-Stock with good results. They have a Test N Tune none points event tomorrow in Birmingham. http://www.alscca.org/community/showthread.php?t=1400

The driver in that 1st gen teg was probably incredible. It wouldn't feel right pulling up with my teg in it's current state talking about "competition", but I will look into that Test N Tune tomoro, thanks for the heads up

There are classes for a reason. You'll be more competitive with your car as it sits now if anything. You're going to be competing against far superior cars once modded and since you're a retard and most of your competition most likely won't be, you'll be getting owned just like you are here.
