First off I'm genuinely curious not shit stirring. OK, why do you think the ruling was made against Auburn's recruiting practices. I've heard since Saban's former president from Corn Dog U is the new NCAA head that Saban was responsible, also the Big 12 sponsored the bill, or (I think the actual argument to push it through) NCAA saying since every school might not be able to afford the recruiting effort the schools that could have an unfair advantage. Opinions or differing viewpoints

From what I heard the ruling had very little to do with what Auburn was actually doing and was more of a preventative measure. And if that's incorrect then it just sounds like Saban is getting his panties in a bunch over nothing. Auburn doesn't have a lot of top targets in state for 2011 anyway.

Saban didn't say anything other than he felt like it wasn't taking best advantage of evaluating players by having all the coaches at one school versus having 1 coach at several schools. He mentioned it was playing more on emotions instead of the kids (which has obviously worked well for Auburn)What I meant was the replies I have heard has been anything from Saban was behind it because Auburn was gaining on Alabama in recruiting or the other things I have mentioned in my first post.

i figured it would happen as soon as i heard they were doing it again. not a big deal, we had sense enough to say it was targeting boosters rather than recruits. i dont think it had anything to do with saban or whatever.

I didn't think Saban had anything to do either with it but it seems alot more people than I thought possible think he did. Several have been calling into the local radio shows about it. Probably the Kool Aid drinking tin foil hat wearing kind that live with mommie and spend all day on Auburn message boards.

I don't like Saban in the slightest, but I reckon he has better things to do.

In my opinion the university should be able to send as many coaches to one school as they want. But I like Savannah would rather send 6 coaches to 6 schools instead of 6 coaches to one school. However the school in Columbus is supposed to have several good kids.

first of all, i think the whole thing is silly.
NCAA saying since every school might not be able to afford the recruiting effort the schools that could have an unfair advantage.
this. OH NOOOOOEEEEZZZZZ a school might have an unfair advantage!?!?!?!?!?! wowza!!! that has never happened in sports EVA?!?!?!! let's get real here, there are already unfair advantages that schools have over others. some schools have better facilities because they have more money. does that mean we need to make cookie cutter stadiums and facilities for EVERY school so it would be fair? by their logic this would be the same thing! ALSO, school have an advantage by location. IE, USC, Florida yada yada you get the point.
also, do you mean to tell me an ncaa school cannot afford to rent a limo. STFU. they don't need to be in the ncaa if that is the case.
its just funny to me that this tiger prowl is even an issue. we came up with a clever and legal way to help recruiting and booster's and they made up a rule to make it illegal? that's laughable.
because Auburn was gaining on Alabama in recruiting
we weren't gaining. we placed ahead of you. not that it matters because it was really close. just stating the facts.
Several have been calling into the local radio shows about it. Probably the Kool Aid drinking tin foil hat wearing kind that live with mommie and spend all day on Auburn message boards.

haha i was going to say the same thing :D
anyways i don't care if it was saban or jesus that said anything about it. that is irrelevant because in my opinion the rule against it is just silly. if they would focus on making a playoffs system like they did making this illegal, the ncaa would be pointed in the right direction.
