Honda has decided to give the new 04' S2K a 2.2 engine keeping the same 240 HP and adding around 10 more lbs of torque. Gearing and a couple of other minor things have been changed as well. 17's will also be standard.
Oh yeah, they softened the suspension for a "better ride", and not to mention lowered the redline from 9K to 8K.

damn.........
1. the s2k looks sweet with the stock 17's, yes, but......
2. why the FUCK would the soften the suspension on a "SPORTS CAR" (probably the biggest mistake honda has made!)
3. well you can go ahead and trade the 10 extra torque for the 8k rev. thats the price you pay for torque honda owners...hehe
other than that i think it looks great!!!

We'll see what kind of numbers it pulls. It's supposed to weigh the same...so we'll see. I hope the keep the original SO2's as well.
Personally, I don't like the wheel choice. :x

S2000's look much better in person than they do in pictures. I can't wait to test drive an 04'. I'd like to see how different the gearing is.

Remember now that the car has a lower redline so a change of gearing is normal. The actual speed each gear takes you might be very similar if not exactly the same. Lets hope its shorter though.
Hopefully bumping it to 2.2 liters will make a difference and give it more room for modifications. Who cares if you don't have the "watch me rev to 9k yo!" ablitity. I mean heck its still revving to 8k and now has a better powerband.
I know it kinda sounds like they are making the car less sporty, but softer does not always mean worse handling. I wonder how much softer?

I'm predicting a final drive of 4.44. We'll find out in November.

looks good. a hard top would seemingly defeat the purpose i think. kinda like the hard top miatas.
