View Full Version : *Tenative* Turbo install schedule plans

Where: Kenny's place - park on the street
When: Saturday and Sunday Times? Bring any tools you got!

Kenny: chime in any time to let me/us know your schedule

Why? Cuz im cool and i'll get beer

Saturday:
1. Thoroughly make sure I got all the bits I need ~1 hr
2. Get brazing equipment and couplers from Lowes ~1hr
3. Tap the oil pan ~3hr
4. Remove entire exhaust system ~3hr
5. Cut EGR and make it easy for Wolf to weld it shut ~30 min
6. Mount manifold, turbo, wastegate, intercooler ~2hr

Sunday:
1. Run oil lines for sender and turbo ~ 1.5hr
2. Hook up wideband O2 sensor with on/off switch ~1.5 hr
3. Do vaccum lines for turbo, wastegate, and BOV

Monday - have the car towed to Wolf for 3" exhaust and intercooler piping fabrication

The turbo fits the manifold but the manifold doesnt fit the downpipe. good thing i got that extra flange. I did an approximate clock on the turbo and test fitted the turbo and wastegate to the manifold. Everything looks good although i need to find some longer downpipe bolts tomorrow at the hardware store, and I need to find a 5 bolt gasket that fits. I cant wait to get this shit on

ok i understand the 3 hours for the oil pan cause those are a bitch! buuuut... why 3 hours on the exhaust???? do you suck cock or something??? hehe j/k but seriously why 3 hr.?

Good question. i have no idea why i said 3hr for that. shouldnt take more than an hour or so. The oil pan is going to involve removing some crap, undoing some motor mounts and jacking up the motor :(

it moves out nicely for a non intercooled car with -5 hours of tuning (i fat fingered the safc2 and it shit its pants) :shock:

I heard it today as I was walking back to C zone. I kinda looked around wondering where that turbo sound came from, and guessed it was coming from one of those big trucks I happened to see on the road (cause it sounded just like a big 18 wheeler). Then, I saw Jess, got his attention while he was stopped in traffic, and asked him to rev it up again. All I heard was turbo. Definately sounds good, but a big ole exhaust would just add to it. 8) :twisted:

Downpipe is 2.5
Flex-pipe (to save the mani from too much stress)
3" exhaust
3" muffler
3" mini bagel pizza
