I got offered a trade for a 98 Bandit 1200s. It has about 28k miles and other than the slipping clutch that the owner says he'll replace before we swap it runs great afaik. It has been laid down and I took a short vid of it to show the flaws.

Stage 2 jet Kit with open element K&N air filters and D&D exhaust. Brand new Tagasaki 530 O-ring chain

Would you do it? Opinions on the bandit?

I enjoyed riding it and I think it will be easier to sell than the drz since everyone that emails me about it has been dicking me around so far. And I might end up selling the buell if I like it enough.

If you are friends with William (ghostdriver) on Facebook, you could ask him about it. He has a Bandit 1200 just like that.

If you like it and it is worth it to you, do it. It seems like a nice bike IMO.

edit: and it sounds pretty sweet, with a pipe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RctV5zgpxEQ

Hmmmm i dont know man. If you are looking to just unload a bike, the bandit may be easier to sell then drz. Otherwise you have 2 different bikes that perform two very different roles and if you like having that....well then tuff decision mang.

I would liken the bandit to be a very similar riding bike to the zrx, prob a bit taller and a bit slower. Although the jetkit, pods, and pipe will help things along.

I'm mainly wanting opinions on whether or not its a good deal value wise. Am I coming out on top in your opinion or is it a even trade?

The drz is pretty equally beat but it is a dirt bike and unpainted so its scratched plastics instead of paint... It has trouble starting sometimes and seems to not be charging the batt like it should. It does run great.

I would value the bandit in the mid high 2's without knowing alot about it. New tires, chain, never down or no big cosmetic or mechanical flaws i would list it for $2800-2900 tops, expect 2500-2700.

We'll I'm doing it. I've only been offered $1500 so far for the drz from about 5 people via email (sight unseen). Thanks for the input.
