The swap will get a new timing belt, water pump, water mpump gasket, and probably clutch before going in.

If i were going to go with another civic, i would do a sohc y8. that vtec shit didnt work for me, neither did 2 cams. Made my engine confused, which made it slow.

It was slow because you bought it from a chop shop. The extent to making this engine work in my car is dropping it in, plugging up the harnesses, and cranking it up. It should preform accordingly as long as the engine is in good shape.

I voted for the cheaper one with more miles. 20k is nothing when it comes to a B18B and the money saved will pay for the preventive stuff you have planned. Either one sounds fine.

Going to pick up the 80k mile swap on Sunday.....the one with less miles already sold.

Neither. B18C5!

I must admit, it would be cheaper to do an LS and just turbo it, but it's just more fun with a Type R  . BTW, I'd pick the lower mileage of the two if you're not planning on pulling it apart and inspecting it. 20k less miles is one more year of driving, but hell, get what ya can. If it dies, time for some strokin'

Later,
Roach

P.S.: My dumbass didn't read you had already picked the other one but I'm too lazy to change the rest of my post

no, I am getting it from a guy up in Huntsville....Paul knows him and said he is a good guy. OB recommended him to me, he is the one OB bought all of his swaps from. 80k miles on a honda motor is nothing. I seriously doubt it is about to throw a rod or burn up a piston from 80k miles of 142hp. If it starts smoking badly or gets some major blow by, I will re-ring it, simple as that.

<-Has 190k miles on his current engine that doesn't burn oil and has a little blowby. Tranny doesn't grind either.
