'94 BMW 540i questions?

what do you think this thing would run in the 1/4?

couple of specs for the untrained eye:

94 bmw 540i
4.0L V8 5 speed auto
282 hp
295 tq
3800 lbs
compression 10:1

here is the real kicker....the guy says he swaped out his auto for a 6 speed manual in his bmw but ......bmw did not offer the 6 speed manaul tranny. so after we called him on it, he says its a "euro" 6 speed tranny. :roll: hummm..does this even exist? how can i go about finding out if bmw made a 6 speed manaul in europe? and also wouldn't he have to trade ecu's?? something suspect going on! 8)

the 5 speed does exist. they are a stanard option for all european bmw's. if they have the standard 260 HP (i think), they should be able to run mid to high 14's. My dad has a 03 530i and it's fairly quick for a straight 6 pulling a 3800 lb car.

remember, europe always gets the cool stuff. like volvos, all of them have manual options (a la kenny's 740 euro tranny swap).

yeah but this is a 94 auto. no doubt i'm sure its quick, i'm not saying that.

i just think this guy is full of it. he has been trying to cover up his shit and he keeps on messing up. he isn't at all a bmw fanatic so i highly doubt he would go through all the trouble to get the 6 speed in europe that is if there really is one for his year/model.

Theres a guy who has a silver Z3 coupe in town and his dad has a 98 540i and it has a 6 speed in it. Took me for a ride in it about a year ago and it was amazing, it had chip and exhaust though.

thats the key. its a 94 not 98. i now they started making the 6 speed in 95 but what about the 94.
