Hello,
Well, it's that time of year again folks. Old man winter is slowly but
surely releasing his grip and it's time to get those engines fired up for
another intense round of racing action in 2011! Dust off your helmets,
because this season marks a turning point in the history of the Alabama
Region of the Sports Car Club of America.
We have some exciting news to share with all of our members this year in
regards to auto-cross. For those of you who don't know, for years we have
been holding these events at the Birmingham Race Course. But over time
the parking lot's surface conditions have deteriorated to a point where it
was time to find a new location.
After intense negotiations we have secured the VERIZON WIRELESS
AMPHITHEATER IN PELHAM, AL for the 2011 season! Our first event will be
on Feb 27 and will be a Test N Tune event. This new site features an 1100
x 400 foot area of SMOOTH, FLAT asphalt for your driving pleasure! This
site promises to yield some of the fastest driving yet and we are VERY
excited to offer this to our members. Even if you aren't active with
auto-cross, as an avid fan of motor sports, you should come and check it
out. There are plenty of shopping and eating areas across the street from
this venue so you can spectate the cars, catch a ride with one of our
drivers, and then eat and shop afterwards. This site truly offers
something for everyone!!! If you have any questions about the event, you

And just when you think things couldn't get any more exciting, rally-cross
is back with another exciting season at Shag Bark Park in Harpersville,
Alabama. Edwin Cunill is once again our Rally-cross chairman for his
second year and has promised another exciting season with 6 events on the
schedule. The next event will be on March 6 and promises to be awesome.
This site is truly an exceptional place with wide open spaces and plenty
of that awesome Alabama dirt! You can contact Edwin at
