Anybody (Adam or Jess) know where I can find some sweet deals on a 17" or 19" LCD monitor? My parents are picking up the tab and my mom wants me to find a nice LCD for med school. TIA..

you can run apple monitors on a PC with a conversion cable. Id try best buy (FREE SHIPPING!!!) or just run upto montg. and get it. Thats your best bet.

You can also try ebay or www.pricewatch.com, but you'll most likely have a sore sphincter from the shipping charges

www.newegg.com

They have great deals on all computer parts, and Samsung makes AMAZING LCD's. I would get a Samsung 19".

Not to hijack the thread, but I am looking for a cheap used monitor, preferrably a 17" or bigger

newgg, newegg, newegg, newegg

Did I mention newegg?

One of the best companies I have ever shopped online w/ ever. Period..

Great prices on computer parts and if you know how to shop right on there you can usually pick up some free stuff on deals and almost always get free shipping that in my own experience usually arrives a day EARLY!

I ordered a new computer (parts, I assembled) about $1100 worth and weighing in @ about 30 pounds total. Free shipping came in 2 days. Caught me by complete surprise. I was planning on cleaning my room up after work to begin working on it the next day to find out it was already here..

Shoip @ newegg...

Check pawn shops... Seriously...

Haggle with the guy too... You can almost always get a better price.
Pawn shops are great places to find generic used electronics gear.
I really don't know about the selection in AU but, in ATL if you spend a day or 2 you can usually find anything you want

Got to the surplus department on campus and see when they are having their next auction. I got 2 decent 21" monitors there for $35 total, plus the architecture department just surplused like 20 17" wide screen flat panels so those will all be up next time.

Cool, thanks for the tip. Where is surplus now? I know it used to be in the old ROTC building, gut since they tore it down, where did it move?

I checked a couple pawn shops with no luck.

I've been trying to find out as well...
I'm going to call them in a few days. The last time they sounded really iffy about when it was going to be (late October early November)

But, hopefully it should be around the corner

Got the new monitor. Samsung SyncMaster 192N.

19" LCD flatscreen w/ good contrast and color. I LOVE it :)
