Every October the Petit Le Mans is held in Atlanta. Tickets this year for will be $45 dollars for a 1 day pass and infield parking. The race starts at 9:00 or 10:00 AM I think on the 12th. I've been the past two years in a row and I must say it has been one of the best experiences of my life. It's a shame the M3's won't be racing this year because they were the best sounding cars last year. But anyways, I advise as many of you to go as possible. :D

Sorry for being the ignorant one, but I did just come from a very sheltered car club. We weren't even aloud to race, God knows they would freak-out if I actually went to one. It would be a bad influence on me. I don't know, they would probably just vote me out or something. :lol:

Yeah it's like Nopi, and there are a bunch of chicks too! :lol:

It's an endurance race, patterned after LeMans, (hope you've heard of it), and it rocks. TransAm, Star Mazda (rotary open wheel cars) , and Speed World Challenge (stock-type sports cars, FWD, RWD, AWD) are the support series, I'm definitely going to be there for 3 days.

Sounds like fun. I have heard of NOPI, but this will be my first year attending. I really feel as though I'm being schooled hanging out with S.C.A.R. getting to do shit that I was never aloud to do in S.F. I'm so glad, you guys can't even amagin. :shock:

It isn't like Nopi. I think Nopi blows, its all about the 'scene' :roll: not fast cars. It's probably the wrong site to not like Nopi though.

not all all charlie. i'm getting further and further away from that scene. i mean i'm going and i do like some of the cars that are there. but i'm more go than show now, even though my car is slow. nopi is just fun because we go in a big group and hang out.

it's everything opposite of nopi!! :lol: he was just kidding. i hope there is a new body style viper there.....god i love those cars.

SLC: some cars you'll see run are panoz, porsche, vette, m3, viper, audi, and etc..... actually i heard there aren't any m3's this time. can someone clear this up?

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Like I said, I've never heard of it before now, so I don't really know what to expect. It still sounds like fun though. I would like to go, but.... Candice is hurting right now. :cry: I'm not even sure how I'm going to make it to NOPI much less the race. I'm about intoxicated right now. It's difficult to type....I have to keep erasing shit and type it over..... :beer: I'm going to run around my projects right quick and locate a nice curb to pass out on.... no, I'm going to go lay on the couch.

It isn't really all it's cracked up to be. Yes it's fun. Yes, it's mostly rice. You'll have a good time.

Biggest reason I'm going is to network. :metalhea: Of course, you can't beat a good sportscar race. The great thing is you can move around, from the paddock to the stands, and see the race from all angles. A tent would be nice for the free food & drink though.

Hey, I'm going to Petit LeMans on Friday only. If anyone is planning on going on Saturday only then please let me know and perhaps we can work out some sort of deal with tickets that will benifit us both. You see, one cannt buy a ticket for friday only so I'm trying to sell my Saturday ticket.

I have prior engagements made for saturday but I still want to go fri. I haven't bought my race ticket yet. I just think it would be silly for me to buy a two day pass when I can only go one day. I'm looking for someone to split the bill with. I figured $30 will be well worth it as advance saturday only tickets are $45.

I am not sure if I can weasel out of work on Saturday since I got off for the US GP. But I am going all Day Thursday and Friday morning. I'd love to watch the race but my main goal is to try and talk to some of the teams.

If anyone wants to go Thursday let me know. You know you don't care about skipping class ;)

Damn, I can't decide if I'm going to go Friday.

Can anyone come up with a comprehensive schedule? All I can find is the ALMS schedule only. The Star Mazda, SPEED challenge, and Trans Am schedule eludes me.

Thursday was awesome. It rained a great deal, which was cool because I got to see a lot of cars run in the rain, it sucked because I got really wet and am pretty sick right now.

There were almost no spectators, so the competitors had thier guard down a bit. I got to spend a long time in the Panoz trailer talking to thier engine specialist. I've met him a few times before but he really was quite hospitable considering it was a big race weekend and everything. Of course right after that their #50 car crashed so he was pretty busy from then on.

I've never seen so many different series at once. It's really incredible. There are

Formula Ford
Formula Mazda
Panoz GT
Trans Am
SPEED World Challenge (including more than one class)
ALMS (3 classes)

I have some good video footage I'll share soon.

I'm at work until 3:00 then I'm heading to Road Atlanta for the last hour or two of the main event.

All day today they are playing the race on SpeedVision (or Channel, whatever they call it now)

From 10am - 8pm all day long...

I was there all day friday and it totally rocked. I only with I was there tonight though, it would have been alot better than that kickin' football game...

I was there on saturday. I have to say that was the coolest shit I have ever seen. It was my first trip to see Le Mans but it will now become a tradtition to see it every year.

Micheal and me were there as well for Friday and Saturday. It absolutely kicked butt! It was one of the coolest things I have ever watched and I saw all 10 hours of the endurance race. Peter Cunningham also signed my spark plug cover and Taz Harvey signed under my center armrest. They were both really cool guys and didn't mind talking at all. I'll have pics up very soon of me literally 4 feet away from the cars as the stormed out of the pits. If they came out right it'll be awesome.
