...now I've got a nice little rev limiter at 3,500rpms. After getting a wrong set of injectors AGAIN I had a set overnight shipped to me. They plugged right in and on the first try the car fired right up and idled perfect. I took it down the driveway and it seemed to be running really well, except it was throwing a code 16 which is a faulty injector  . I read that alot of older Civics throw this code (since I'm running a P28 ECU now) so I wasn't sure if it was just being gay or not. I took it down the road again to find out that the car won't rev over 3,500rpm. Not because of power reasons but the actual revlimiter has been lowered.

I popped the hood and checked all of my wiring again seeing as I had to splice in resistors to run my new 450cc injectors. Everything looked correct and I soldered all connections. If one of my injectors is bad I'm going on a killing spree. This is my third set of injectors. I've be sent the wrong ones TWICE and now these seem to be having a problem even though they looked in awesome shape.

< is very mad.

Damn! Whats teh deal, do you just think that the revlimiter was lowered until you get the basemap tuned? I hope none of my injectors are faulty. They all look perfect and the guy said they didn't need to be cleaned....heres hoping they all work right.

whose the guy that gave that great advice? who made the base map?

the guy who sold me the injectors from his dsm.

The guy that doesn't have to worry about shit going wrong? It's a good thing to get them cleaned especially since it doesn't cost much. I know for FI app. it's very important to have the injectors operating within so many cc's of each other (2 or 3 cc's I think). I wouldn't skip out on a cheap process that could save you much $$$ and a headache (plus, you get nifty cool little flow-test results on paper  ).

As for the rev limiter, either ask the person that made the base map what the rev limiter is set at, or go in there with a Hondata 4B and check for yourself.

SGT did my base map so I'm pretty sure it is right. I also just checked the resistance of my injectors and everything seems good to go there. After that I untaped all of my wiring connections to see if anything was loose, nothing was considering I soldered it, but at least I checked.

It's throwing a code 16 so that still makes me think it is something to do with wiring. Even if an injector wasn't spraying perfectly I doubt it would throw a code.

Have you ran it with JUST the ecu and nothing else?

I don't think that will tell me anything considering the stock ECU isn't set up to handle 450cc injectors. I've also had to splice in different clips and inline resistors so reverting back to stock is kinda out of the question as well.

It would tell you if the ecu is fubar'ed. I wish I would have check my P28 before I sent it off to be chipped by hondata. It was a crapped out ECU, so I had to trash a chipped P28 and get one that was working.

Do you get a solid red light on the hondata box? Also, you could put a stock ecu in just to see if it revs past 3500rpm. It won't idle worth anything, but you start to isolate the problem. Paul

That's what I was saying before about hooking up JUST the ecu.

I have a S100 system so no box. I just found out a bit of interesting info. Apparently some of the European made or model ECU's have a BARO sensor. This will trigger a code 16 and set the rev limiter at 3,500rpm. Since I re-checked my wiring AGAIN and the car runs well until it hits the limiter I'm guessing this is my problem. I just have to get my ROM burned with the BARO disabled.

If you call Jim at Motorvations in Trussville I'm sure he can send you out a chip real quick to get you back on the road. His number is 205-661-3600. Just tell'em I sent ya and he'll treat you like shit...I mean, take care of ya

Well I got good news. I checked my ECU number and I got one of the European model P28's. Kinda ticks me off that the guy I bought it from didn't tell me this, but at least I know what the problem is now.

US Models have BARO sensors too I found out so that may not be the only problem :?

Well SGT and another Hondata guy stated that with my model number ECU the Baro has to be deactivated.

I got a response from Hondata themselves. The problem is the Euro ECU's DON'T have baro sensors so it has to be deactivated. I talked to Jim and he is overnighting me another base map with the codes turned off.

Weird, we see big enough pressure changes that a non-atmospherically referenced map setup would be off enough for the tree huggers to freak. Guess that's why its a european ECU. Still, nothing wrong with precision...

That's cool. Guys up there told me wrong. It was a yellow Civic hatchback. Made 202whp and 153lbs.tq. Not bad at all for a B series motor. I'll try to see if I can get some pics of the dyno graph.

Later,

P.S.: The specs I can remember are:
2.0L(Bored out GSR block with 85mm crank)
11.5:1 Compression JE Pistons
Crane Stage 3 Cams
