The first annual Washington County Rally Cross is being held tonight. Rally cross in an entry level rally event very similar to auto-x held on any semi level field. The course is marked with cones just like autocross. It's designed to be safe alternative to true road rally (no trees or big cliffs to run off of). This particular event isn't SCCA sanctioned, but maybe it will be in the near future once I contact the Southeast division. I'm going to get the cones in about an hr :P . Yes the event is being setup on my land. The cows are in the small field and we are marking off the big field for da event.
The Civic could see stiff competition from the local 2000 Malibu which is already a seasoned off road machine. We're not sure of the other entries yet, but I'll keep you guys posted.
Well, if its speed that wins....thats anyones game, but if its style points that wins, the malibu is going to do damn well 8) . Sounds pretty fun, next time I am down we should do this.

Well it started raining so the course I set up was very slippery on the grass field. It definitely showed me more of the old saying "sometimes you gotta slow down to go fast". Once rutts started forming the car would steer itself (which wasn't always good). I set the course up really tight so it wasn't as much fun in the rain as it was earlier in the dry. The car had no traction out of the tight sections. Left foot braking was a must in the wet and dry to get the car to rotate correctly without scrubbing speed.
Ryan isn't back from work yet and I've already destroyed most of the cups, er I mean cones  .
We will definitely do it the next time you are down.

Shit that sounds like Crown Vic Material
Is the course fairly open, or would a big car like that just be no fun at all (still has an e-brake ;) )

i would rally cross any car. people take trucks and jeeps to this event as well as all-out rally cars. i have seen Z06s and Z/28s in it as well. any car can be a rally car. ask my friends about that one, i will rally anything.
you just have to figure out if it is worth $30. i think with the e-brake you can have fun anywhere. so i would say it is worth it.

thats the plan. if there's gravel i'm not going to run the lude, but i think it can handle a little dirt. once.
