Alright everyone, its time to get an upgrade for the 240's brake system and I'm caught between slotted, cross drilled, and slotted/cross drilled. Does anyone know anything about the performance aspects with respect to each? I want a quite ride and I'm not sure if the holes in the rotor will make noise. Any suggestions?

Neither, for the street and even most track events solid discs are more than you'll ever need.
If almost every racer in the ECHC road racing series can run solid discs I'm sure you can too.
I got brembo blanks, hawk black pads and SS brake lines. Stops better and definitly feels better.

You can get the lifetime warranty autozone ones, and if they ever screw up, you get new ones for free!

Well i finally got my new cross drilled and slotted brakes installed and they stop a hell of a lot better than I ever expected them to. Now, does anyone have some 17" rims to sell so I can upgrade my front discs to some R32 calipers?

you punk ass biotch. everybody tells you to get blanks and you get S/CD. remind me to kick your ass
why get R32's when you can get Z32's for way cheaper?
wait a minute, i jsut realized something......
umm..you know your new fancy schmancy rotors aint gonna work once you get new calipers, right?

Duh.... no really?!?! I got cross Drilled and slotted rotors for the rear disc brakes because the rotors were under spec. I'm getting R32 calipers for the FRONT disc brakes. Clear that up for ya?

BTW I found the R32 and Z32 brakes for roughly the same price, i would just have to pay 15-20 more to have the skyline brakes shipped here

That was pretty crappy that a guy from tirerack.com took the info from stoptech......i know he said he did and all but he shouldn't post it up on a message board like that.
Here's majority of the info on brakes u'll ever need to know:

Please explain how slotted and cross drilled rotors decreased your stopping distance? Did they magically give your calipers more clamping force or increase the traction of the tires? Don't tell us something about how they keep your pads cool, because unless you did about 50 stops from 140mph back to back you weren't generating enough heat that a proper set of brake pads couldn't handle.
Best brake upgrade = good tires, good pads and fluid.

Naw, he didn't say it decreased his stopping distance, it just stopped better than he expected! ;)
And by better than expected I imagine he's talking about the built in steering wheel hand massage whenever he hits the brakes..

Kinda like how power steering removal can actually improve handling (had to be there). :P

Do you mean like throttle body motors are turbos?
No, he means like how removing the vacum line from your brake booster gives you better handling brakes. Its what all the JDM guys are doing.
I even removed the belt from my AC for more power. Whenever i get hot I get under the hood and turn it over myself. Much better AC handling that way.
