View Full Version : Getting in shape a little kinda
Over the past 5 days I've weened myself from over a pack a day to about 3 cigs a day. Started doing a little lifting and easing into very light cardio (gonna put a weight bench where my bed is now). Dont wanna give myself a heart attack so I'm taking it slow.
Started eating less crap and more veggies. All but completely stopped drinking soft drinks and switched to water and OJ. I already have a lot more energy during the day and can crush gravel with my bare hands and im slowly gaining the ability to fly although its only for about a foot in distance and about 1-2 inches off the ground.
As for the 240, Im going to start back working on it this week and hopefully will be back on the road by the weekend of the 17th. Man I miss driving it :( :)

If you need help with anything exercise related, I have a fairly extensive background in the strength and conditioning industry. Worked with lots of high school athletes as well as with physical therapy rehabilitation patients (as well as idiotic college students :P ). Also have my CSCS certification, so if you've got any workout questions, feel free to ask.

Join Giles, 25 bucks a month, and it's not crowded most of the time. Not a meat market like some of the local places either. Works for me.

If any of you hit on my girlfriend, you will DIE!
I used to work out at AC Fittness. There was too much pussy to concentrate...and it's like $36 a month :?
Now, I go to the gym at wynlakes twice a week when I stay at my folks house and do basic curls, situps, pushups and flys in the mornings when I'm in AU.
The hardest part of working out for me is getting started. After I get going, and get in the routine, it's gravy

What did you do this time?
Oh yeah, you need to work on building up your forearm strength so you can take pieces of charcoal and crush them into diamonds like superman.

The 240 has been down for like a month. Long story short: Alternator died, started removing some stuff, ended up breaking some stuff and decided to go ahead and do extra stuff while its out of commission.
I think im just gonna get a weight bench and work out here for now.
Matt - any supplements and/or drinks suggestions? I got what they had at wal-mart: Creatine drink and TwinLabs Ripped Fuel. Basically feels like I'm on speed. Took it too late and couldnt fall asleep till after 3am.
What about diet? I figure just eat an assload of protein and an above-normal amount of carbs and of course veggies and water.
eat lots of meat. I use the creatine powder. That helps a good bit. I used Cell Tech for a while and that worked pretty good too.
Oh yea, well I used NOTHING :wink: . Always been proud that I have never used a single supplement in my life, not even protein bars. No matter how effective they may be, I want to know that I am the one lifting the weight. Plus, I figure if you eat right, you can always get the right amounts of protein, carbs, and fat.
PS.-I cannot believe you limited yourself to only 3 cigs a day....must be because the 240 isn't running 8) .
or mabey because they make lungs black and kill you faster and the cost of buying who knows how many packs can equal hundreds of dollars?
Cigs = teh lose
Cigs=Jess's prescious
since i buy cigs for both me and marcie is roughly $1500-$1800 a year. Shes quitting too.

I started back in the gym as well once I moved back up here. I worked out along time ago, and it has slowly rotted away over the last few years and turned to fat. :cry:
I'm down to 1-3 cigs a day, if that, and working out 1.5 hours a day and running anywhere from 1-3 miles a night depending on how I feel. I've lost 20psi ;) I mean lbs since I've been back in Huntsville. Its amazing how much of a difference working out and eating right can make in ones life. Sad thing is I've experienced all this before, but let it go to shit over a girl. :lol:

Its good, err kicks ass. I'm a totally different person, I was depressed a lot this past year in Auburn, but not no more. I miss Auburn some, mostly because of da peeps, but I'm coming back Thurs night-sun this week, so after I get done beating something down Thursday night, I should be free the rest of the weekend! :lol:
My new cell# is 256-479-2270

In the past 6 days of eating more, smoking less, exercising - I've gained 2.5lb. Aint that nuts?
Oh yeah, I got some protein powder from GNC today. Feels like I just ate 10lbs of sand. and I drank it like 3hrs ago

Jess, it's not uncommon to gain weight at first, but that's not a bad thing. No worries. As far as supplements are concerned, at this stage i'd stay away from them. Just eat a well balanced diet, a bit heavy on lean protein, drink plenty of water, kick the smoking, and keep working out, and you'll be good to go. I have done supplements off and on, but mostly when I was a competitive athlete, I really don't think it's necessary for you at this stage.

Im not upset about gaining the weight. Thats a good thing. Ive weighed about the same for about the last 8 years and I doubt much of the new weight is fat. I'll save the ripped fuel for days when I intend to work out a lot. Stuff really makes me feel jittery as shit. And just drink the protein crap when i dont have time to make real food. Its morning and I still dont feel like I've digested half of that crap.

I'd make sure that you have the ephedrin-free ripped fuel, as the ephedrin in that stuff has been linked to several hundred deaths in the U.S. and it's on the verge of getting banned if it hasn't been already. Not good for the old ticker.
The label is kinda ripped up, so I'll assume it has it. When I take it, I feel like running 25 miles at full speed until my heart explodes, then doing jumping jack until my brain function ceases.
