Does anyone on this board know about building fiberglass enclosures? I need to make one for the the interior panels in my trunk resting up against the sheetmetal of the cars exterior. Anything special I need to take care of maybe some kind of filler between the mdf enclosure frame and the sheetmetal?
The way I've seen it done is place saran wrap over the chassis, put a few layers of 'glass and cloth over it and you've got 1 side down. Get your ring(s) for your sub(s) and make a jig so they will be at the right spot. Use some wood or chicken wire to make a rough mold. cover in saran wrap and start layering. Pull your chicken wire or wood out, but keep the ring. Hope that made some sort of sense. Oh yeah, a fleece blanket is a good foundation for the enclosure. Cheap at goodwill and much faster than layering many smaller cloth pieces

I haven't had a chance to finish my setup but this is how it is so far...

I'm going to be extending it so it wraps up around the side panels (using foam and MDF as supports for the mold), then painting it gloss white. Untill I get some time to do that I just put some carpet down.
As for your filler question, use polyfill to stuff the inclosure, and I second starting w/ a fleece base, just lay the resin down onto it.
