Well the ole beater hatches driver side window finally bit the dust (me trying to force it up didn't help :P ) so I decided to just grab a whole door assembly from a junk yard. After looking around a few places people were wanting $100-$125 for a stinking hatch door  That said I didn't buy one.

It just so happens yesterday Brandon and Tyler were looking around for a 240 wiring harness and came across a 1991 DX hatchback. The body is in real good shape except that it has been hit slightly in the front passenger side light assembly. The interior is good as well except for a torn driver seat. Engine has been pulled, but all the suspension and brakes remain intact. Good door too. :P

The place was just a machine shop and not a junk yard so the guy said they could have it for $100 with the title included. I'm going to run by today after work if I have time and snatch it up.

I'll swap doors for now, but then just use it as a platform for the B18 swap since it already has a pulled engine.

Brock,

Since you've got 2 hatches, want to sell me some parts off one of them? :) I could use a few parts, such as a few rubber trim pieces and whatnot. :)

I just threw away 2 white doors (off of a '90 Si) (windowns in them) and a red si hatch (window in it as well) Bet you hate me now!!! Seriously! Parts off old parts cars that were trashing up my shop.

Well I need to officially own it first, which I should today if things go right.

What do you need?

You have any 2nd gen integra calipers?

OB,

Do you have any other old civic parts laying around? Or anything else that might come in handy on a civic project car?

Brock,

The main things I need are just some plastic/rubber trim pieces before I get the car painted. The ones i'm talking about are the black trims on the midline of the doors. I need the one on the drivers front quarter panel, the drivers door, and the passenger rear quarter panel. I think that's it, but i'm going to go work on the car this evening, so i'll know for sure after tonight.

No, anything and everything I had for 4th gens I just threw out, and the dumpster dumper came Monday. Sorry guys :(

I don't have any other honda parts at all except some B18B stock cams (probably put in my b18a teg) and a D16a6 complete engine.

Well the car is officially mine now so once I get it to my house I'll let you know what you can have Matt.

whats a d16a6, how many miles, what condition and what do you want for it? will it drop right into my '90 wagon?

It's the 108hp Si engine. It should drop right in, but I'd definitely get an A6 tranny if you can, unless you don't care and just need an engine.

well, right now its got the ~90hp 1.5 TBI motor. Just lookin for a cheap, easy upgrade. Its an auto and unfortunatly staying that way. Im sure that 18hp would be a nice upgrade :)

would it bolt right up to my d15 auto tranny?

Yeah of course, unless they made two different blocks :P

Do you want a free manual tranny? My $100 DX has a good tranny left in it and if the guy doesn't pull it before I tow it home I'll just give it to ya.

generous offer, but its 1/2 marcie's car and she wants to keep it auto. Nice for long trips

Yeah, cause you do lots of rowing on those long trips in 5th gear.

with only 90 hp on tap, a slight incline in the road would necessitate a downshift to maintain speed.

Sort of like my roomate's 8000 lb wrangler with the 2L 4 cylinder engine

It's not that bad. My stock 108hp Si runs times faster than plenty of 5.0-4.6 stang GT's that I've seen at the track. :P

So Brock,

Do you have those trim pieces I was asking about?

ActiveAero
03-30-2004, 04:35 PM
Well I put the drivers side door on my other hatch, but if the passenger side piece is symetrical will that work? I plan on coming up this weekend to get Micheal's hatch and if I have time I'll pull the trim pieces you need.

Matt Harris

I need the trim piece that goes on the passenger side behind the door, the one on the rear quarter panel. It's just after the door piece. If you could snag that one for me it would be much appreciated. I'll be in Tampa for a car show this weekend, so if you just want to leave it with Michael that would be great. Thanks! :D
