Wow I had a blast. I hereby declare drag racing to be totally GAY. hehe.

The school was on sat. Got there at 830, started at 10. There were 5 kinds of i forget what they call them, "obstacles". They set up a kidney bean shaped track thing, a 180 sectionwhere you have to do a 180 degree corner, a slalom, a track walking section, emergency braking lane change section, and a 90 degree corner section. At first i was nervous and making mistakes, but by the end of the class, i was doing ok.

Today (sunday) was the actual race. I only got 4 runs in, they were suppose to go again after every group ran once, but they didnt. My first run I got an 81. (track was fast and long.) My dad also got an 81 his first run (in the benzo). My times decreased from a 78 to a 76 and a 75 with a cone. The FTD was a supercharged miata that got a 61.

During the fun run I got my time down to a 73.2 which I though was good, i only thought i could get a 75. I rode with my dad and kinda directed him and he ended up getting a 73.9, He placed 3 people ahead of me on the actual race though.

Next time I will work the track the first time, to get a good look at the lines the fast guys take.

All in all, autox kicks ass. I did ok for my first time(not knowing much about how my car handles). I will try to go to more races, if my funds are not tight. I will post pics some guy took as soon as he posts them. :D

That's great man. First time you pull up to the line sure is nerve racking huh? Then you realize that you don't give a crap and actually start having fun.

haha, yea thats how i felt. I was super nervous the first run, and the last run, i just tried not to spin the crap out of the tires every time.

I just wanted to beat my dad, which i did sort of. There was a jetta and another gti there, but i didnt get their times.
