View Full Version : Big project on the stang tomorrow. Any help is welcome.
Tomorrow around 1, i'm gonna start the lower intake manifold swap on my car. It's theoretically straight forward with only a few minor parts that require some work but basically the gist is that the intakes from the 99+ GT's flow stupid amounts of air resulting in 20 HP gain for guys who don't have the stock exhaust and even more if I can get a larger intake plenum and throttle body. (mabey for my Bday in may)
but anyways, you guys are more than welcome to come hang out, watch and lend a hand. I live up in the back of harmon duplexes. here's directions
hit college street and head towards superwalmart.
Go past it and turn left at the entrance to harmon (right next to store 17 gas staion and kristal).
Follow the main road around past the pool till it splits 2 ways.
Go left up the hill and my culdesac is Woodview Ct. at the top of the hill on the right.
Look for my car and the huge ass white Jeep.
Later guys! 8)
I want something fast

The input shaft can use some extra lube. You're good at that so you can help Alan.

HAHA...I just woke up BIOTCH! I am a lazy BIZNINNY
Install went fairly well...except for the 3 hours we used to ghetto rig the new coolant line :? I've got a couple of other guys interested in this project so knowing what I know now, I think I can get it done with their help in under 4 hours for sure (which I think is pretty good considering that it requires taking the top half of the engine off :o )
One of the only snags that has yet to be fixed is the fan control sensor. The pre 99 intakes have two holes in the coolant part that runs across the front. One controls the fan to turn on at a certain temp and the other is a temp sensor for the coolant temp meter.
The temp meter is plugged in fine but the other sensor doesn't have a hole yet since the 99+ cars got the sensors consolidated into 1 sensor that does double duty so for now, the fan sensor is unplugged which results in a fan that is always on. Fine for now but a few buddies are going to tap the thermostat housing and we're going to mount the fan sensor in there next weekend.
But yeah, aside from that the car pulls like a bastard past 3 grand and I'm VERY pleased.
Check out the thread over at the bama mafia for pics.

Sweet. Glad you got everything back together
Here's a dyno chart of a guy with a 96 GT that's bone stock aside from flowmasters and the PI intake swap.
Pretty nice gains for $150 8)
