In the BM video you let me borrow the DC5 was faster by one second around Honda's track then the DC2. Need I get in another argument with you. I'm not saying the DC5 is better but Honda isn't going to create a replacement that is slower and dosen't handle as well. It's just that simple. :D

One of the big reasons that the DC5R "may" not be as fast, they tried to make it "plush" while still having a great track car. The DC2R was alot more stripped and "rougher".

Well if you won't say it I will. The DC5R is better performance wise. I was just showing that the old model can still hold its own (wasn't a fair comparison though because all of the cars were modded). Oh and I don't have a BM that does a complete direct comparison between the two. The one I have just shows them semi testing the new one (pissed me off because they don't test it against the old model directly).

In fact though its funny that I have read a comparision in EVO magazine comparing the old Type-R vs the new Civic Type-R and the DC5R. The DC5 was faster but the old Type-R won due to its rawness. They said the new one is far more refined but not as fun to drive. Too bad we'll never get to see for ourselves.

How can the car be more "plush?" Look at the interior for cryin' out loud. It's got factory Recaros and nadda nadda nadda. It's nice but also cheap in a way. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but I guess I just have a big ego about my car just as well as everyone else does. It's only natural. Believe me, I have great respect for the DC2 and I could have gotten one at the time I bought my car but I just wanted something a little more practical but still fun to drive at the same time. All my car is is an updated GS-R. My car is like a child to me and I will cherish it until it's gone.

The new car is more plush, and that's not a bad thing. The interior is much more refined and generally nicer. It's pretty obvious. What honda was attemtping was to make a more luxurious car that also performed better. A difficult combination to get right. It seems they have done so. I certainly like the new Type R better. They're both great cars, it's just a shame i'll never get an RSX Type R for a track car when I make my millions. :D

BTW, I found some cool videos of the NSX-R on a road course today. The car has no bodyroll whatsoever. I'll try and find them.

The Recaros are nice! Plush for racing seats though. That doesnt' matter cuz the DC2R had the same seats.

From what I remember reading about it, the car is designed to ride "softer", have less noise inside the car, and the engine is supposed to be more refined.

I love both the DC2R and DC5R. I was just simply making a point as to be why it "could be" slower. I wasn't saying it was slower, so don't get your panties in a bunch.

Lastly, Honda designed the DC5R around "Tsukba". So yes it will run a better time there, but other tracks it may not run faster than the DC2R. Either way, the DC5R is a bad azz car and I'm not knocking it.

It just makes me so mad that we're not going to get the RSX-R. Who knows, maybe Honda is playing with us.

You never know. They thought 98 was the last year for the old Type-R, then they skipped over 99 and brought it back for 2000. There is always hope but this new RSX FP kinda scares me into thinking they won't.

Oh here is a quote from one publication.

The old Integra Type R is a more extreme machine, with a pro-racer personality and a one-track mind: drive me hard and fast or take the train.

If the previous ITR is sashimi with a scorching serving of wasabe, the latest ITR is teppanyaki washed down with ice-cold Pokka green tea - just as delicious and filling, but not quite as hot or memorable as the raw sushi.

When all is said and done, this incredible Integra can wear the renowned Type R badge with pride. It may be less of a racetrack refugee than its illustrious forebear, but it's still a genuine Honda performance car that gives the Mitsubishi Evo and Subaru WRX a good run for their yen.
