airforce wings are made of lead; Navy wings are made of gold
those planes are still badass though. nothing compares to the airforce F22, its too bad the wings fall off when it lands on a carrier though.

sorry, its an old navy saying. the wings on the uniforms of airforce pilots are a silver color (lead as the navy calls it) and the wings on the uniforms of naval aviators are a polished brass (gold as the navy calls it). im in the process of earning the gold wings and cant wait to get up in jet. hopefully flying an F-18 will make up for the lack of performance in my truck. and the comment of the F22's wings falling off when it land on a carrier; when the F22 prototype was out the navy tested it to see if it was sturdy enough to withstand carrier landings, but it wasnt, the wings litterally fell off.
