One of my friends is picking up a mid-early 90's Volvo wagon. I assume the NA version and I'm not sure of the exact model yet. She said the car get's no power at all, and I'm guessing its not just a dead battery. Are there any common wiring problems or issues with them?
I'm just trying to get a heads up for any useful info before I check it out.

its a volvo.
If you can turn on your TV, you can fix a volvo. There was a year of volvo, if I remember correctly that used bio-degradable wiring harnesses, so as soon as they see some fuel or oil, they...degrade. But thats not likely the problem. Just check the usual stuff, battery, fuses. Likely the battery is out of water or something. its fuckin hot outside.

I was misinformed. I talked to the owner last night. It's a 1989 740 wagon. It will start up but won't idle.
check the MAFS output voltage, and the AICV is problematic on volvos. Remove it and clean it thoroughly with carb cleaner. unhook the airbox and see if it idles better. W3rd
Try kicking the door while simultaineously honking the horn and singing "row, row, row your boat". That usually cleans the idle up bigtime.

clean the throttle body, check the idle speed motor (under intake)
usually they'll run with a bad maf, they'll just run a litte... funny..
