dallas+less than desirable AC= smelly and swetty Andy.

My 94 teg 150XXXmiles has been making this water draining sound in the front right side, and the AC has been getting worse. I refilled the freon last week and today I filled it again.

The AC will get cold in the morning commute, but in the afternoon it barely does anything. Its beginning to push 100 degrees minus humidity.

Do I have a leak somewhere? or what I dont know jack about AC except that I miss it.

PS: I know most of you dont know me, but some of you might still remember.

TIA
andy

sounds like it has to be a leak to me. i'm not an expert on AC's or anything but the same thing happened to me when i had the cavalier and a leak was the culprit.

Sounds like a whole in the condensor or that area. The condensor is in front of your radiator.

So if it is a whole of a leak, how much would it cost to be fixed?

Uh, you've filled it twice? How do you know its full? How are you filling it?

I bought a pressure gauge and a can of R134 at wally world. Got a pressure reading before and filled it until the reading was at the upper threashold of full. Today I checked it again and it was at the lower limit and I filled it again to the upper limit.

Could there just be another problem that would just cause the air not the cool down?

im having some AC trouble with my civic. replaced the expansion valve yesterday and im waiting for a compressor to come in.

Get one of those UV dye kits and use it at night. works like a charm for finding leaks. Well, hopefully the leak isnt inside the car or it'll dye your car green.

What pressure did you fill it to? Was the car running (w/ AC on ) or not?
