Is that real? If so, how did you do that? I'd like to test my network at my apartment vs my house!
This is from work....
I'm on the AOL Fiber Backbone and 1 block away from the 3rd largest concentration of fiber in the world...
This is from my desktop computer though... I havn't tried it on one of my servers in the fibre core of the datacenter...
I quite frankly have no idea what our exact bandwidth is... but, I've downloaded from up to 8 megabytes / sec...
It's very nice...
btw... the report is from dslreports.com

Trap? No idea - in fact, one run it said I ran a 14.1. Needless to say the thing was messed up. I could have run faster or slower than 15.3 - but it felt pretty good.
What were your stock 60' times? Mine were stuck at around 2.3 ^_^ (still a track newb, but I wasted another GTI by several carlengths lol it was sad)

my stock 60's were always 2.2 and i pulled a 2.1 once. its hard to pull a good 60' with the 6 speed tranny we have, and, wheel hop's a bitch! :D
adam p
09-09-2004, 03:47 PM
so, if I was pulling 2.3 60s 4 times in a row...AND I shift really well (which I think I do, ask Nick he rode once), shouldn't I be running faster than a 15.3 with no seats or spare? You think the track was slow or I just suck at driving?

You also have to take in for temperature and humidity. it was on the warm side that night

would have to ax him aboot that...for his second time at the track...15.3 was respectable...and pretty good IMO

Keep in mind: How shitty MMP is (though it wasn't bad last week), the temperature, hrmmm

pretty sure since i have a timeslip for a 14.9 completly stock with seats and spare at MMP. LOL 8) oh yeah, that was my first time to the track in the gti. i clocked a 14.9 on my second run.
temperature definetly has something to do with it. it was warm the night i went but not HOT. what are you launching at? what are your shift points?

btw: 15.3 is good and i'm not knocking him at all. i'm just trying to help. i mean shit, i could have definetly hit a 14.1 before i got my downpipe, dogbone, and DV but i only went to the track twice before i added those. once at the 1/4 and once at the 1/8.
i wish you knew your trap speeds. that would tell us alot.

Okay, I found this: One of my 15.3.s was at 65. That one was wrong :) THe other 15.3 said 89.7 or something. Both of these were with a 2.3 60'. As far as shifting, ask nick, I think I am shifting well.
I am launching at about 3.5k Pulling out to braking point, feathering out for about a second, no wheel hop flooring it to the top of first. I shifted at redline every time, I didn't go to fuel cut off because the boost drops a couple of PSI (I have a boost gauge).
Whatcha think?

I'll do some highway runs with you or from a few lights if you want. I have bald tires right now and I'd like to see how they do. The new ones are on there way.

your trap should be around 91 in stock form. thats really odd your traping so low. your launching sounds correct. one thing that might help you, i usually shift around 6300 because we start losing alot of power after that. never go into redline. :D how low was your tire pressure? that can cause a lower trap also.
adam p
09-09-2004, 07:38 PM
To be honest, I was shifting at about 6300 not redline which is what I do on the street heh. I was on 30psi, but I had two different tires up front (Dunlop/OE Pilot Sport - both Y rated) because of a curb accident :P. Hehe
Maybe I just need to try again when it isn't so humid and he weather is cool!

damn bro, i honestly don't know what else to tell you. i would lower the tires up front to 24 or so. that will help the launch a little more. run again and try different shift points. GL

Yeah, since you have to shift into 4th anyways, you might as well shift a tad early, because like he said the Dubs lose some power up high.
BTW, your car could have been a beast from the factory... I looked into times for both GTI's and Jetta's with my friend and I don't remember seeing many if any that broke the 15 mark.
Lastly, are his wheels heavier than yours? Other differences? He has an Ann. model, not a 337.

well, i have seen plenty of 14.9's and some 14.8's so its not just mine. yes his wheels are heavier than mine. i have the bbs rc's, and he has the aristos. plus he has a sunroof. those play a small part but his trap is VERY low.
btw: mine is and anniversary model too. mine is the german "silver 25th anniversary edition" and his is the american 20th anniversary edition.
