CS Server (RUNNING)

What's the deal with that? I really wanna get it going... soon. I've been playing lately but have never hosted a server so I don't know what all is in it, but it'd be nice to have our own server.

I already have [aSpeed] before my name in gameplay heh.

I just finished setting up my home computer last night around midnight and then had to hit the bed so I could be at work like a normal slave...

I tried to re-install steam last night but, it (like steam always is) was being a bitch...

I'm going to re-install my OS tonight on a fresh drive and get steam going...

I'm gonna plan to have the server up by tonight, cross your fingers... I havn't played CS in prolly a year now so I've got some practicing to do anyhow...

Nah, I played for about 3 months hardcore last year, and just started back up about a week ago, so I have a tad of practice under my belt, but I'm a noob again too.

BTW, I got Steam working easily first try... and a little tip: Get the program from www.steampowered.com instead of File Planet, you don't have to wait in line. But I'm sure you already knew that.

I hosted 4 servers from on campus last year and they were always packed as shit! My site used to be klanhazard.com but I have taken it down because I don't have time to run a clan with 45+ people in it anymore. REALLY TIME CONSUMING!

Got steam up and running and am re-downloading CS/HL....

Hopefully by tonight it should be up... but, it doesn't matter..

Or if it's public give some people on these forums basic admin priveleges (i.e. kicking, etc) so that we can get rid of all the cheating nublets and idiots. Instead of it just being people longest on the board I'd also suggest having 2-4ppl that play the most on it from the forums so that way we will most likely have one admin on at all times.

Same w/ some other basic administrative mods...

It probably will be public and there will be other admins (kick / map / etc) but, whom is yet to be determined... There's the whole bunch of other thngs that need to be accomplished in the mean time

As I'm sure most of you know I tend to fufill request from members very quickly, so for the time being (once admin and webadmin mod) are installed I can admin the server from anywhere I have an internet connection (which is usually just about everywhere I go, including my car [coming soon:D])...

If there are problems we can deal with them at the time

not bad, I connected last night and had some problems, but Just now got out of de_airstrip and it was right nice and propa. Now all we need are some people in the damn thing! Also if I could have admin that would be great. I was always an excellent admin in my server. I ran the shit for well over a year.

I used to use my machine as a desert combat server. It was always packed. After my linux machine is done, I'll probably start using it as a HL2 server or CS2 server when HL2 is officially released. Enough of this preloading! Do not tease me so!!!

I just played for a little while... a few things:

1) I think it says FF is on on the intro screen, but it isn't.
2) We need to work on the map rotation lol... there was at least one really funky one. Maybe we can vote on which maps to have?
3) Is 12 the limit of our bandwidth? I personally like larger servers, at least 20.

finally I went in and sat for about 15 minutes and someone showed up. fun shit, i think there were like 4 or 5 aspeed guys that showed up then some randoms. All I can say is OWNED!!!
