Felix and I did it this afternoon. It took us five hours. We drove around town getting parts that AEM forgot to send me. Then we called AEM and told them that the intake had fitment problems AGAIN! After that we had to cut off some of the shift linkage with some type of Dremel tool or something. Today was outrageous. A one hour job turned into five hours. WTF!

No we didn't! ;)

Angle grinder, and cutting disc. I cut part of the counter weight off the shift linkage. Roughly about 1/2".
What was the problem with this thing?
Was it a cold air or just a short ram intake?

It is a cold air intake.
The problem is that the counter weight on the shift linkage hit the intake, when shifting into 1st, 3rd, & 5th.
It was a shitty design (R&D) on AEM's part.

It all makes sense now :D
When I first started reading this I was assuming it was a standard after-market air intake. I couldn't picture in my head what was could cause a 5 hour installation.
But, given the fact that it was a poorley design cold air I could only imagine the problems that could result. Blame AEM and thank Dremel.

thank Dremel
A dremel would have taken much much longer to cut with, thank air tools.
