Not bad.......pretty clean for rice  . But, forced induction on Vtech honda= :enforce: :snipe: :kaboom: :bfg: :plasma: . I have come to the conclusion that putting a turbo on a Vtech honda baisically goes against everything Honda is trying to do...which is to make lots of power from small engines NATURALLY aspirated. If you want to boost something, get a DSM, Supra, VW, Audi, Subaru, or any other turbocharged car from the factory. I understand that people like the looks of their cars and want them to be fast...which I am sure is the reason why this guy did what he did. But, IF I ever own a Vtech something, it will definitely stay N/A 8)

Too bad the thread has nothing to do with the 300hp part and everything to do with big, slow loading close-ups of the rice part.

Nice car, but it needs more info on the engine.
Michael... does your dislike for turbo vtec hondas go on to include other turbocharged cars with variable valve timing and lift? If so, you should go look under the hood of the cherished 996tt, because it has exactly that.

I believe Michael's car has VVT in fact, if i'm not mistaken.

I can't remember the other site where the specs are on the car but I'll try and find it again.

Well, my comment was directed more towards cars with variable valve lift, as almost everything has vvt these days.

ACTUALLY, my car as VCT......variable cam timing, not valve timing. You must remember Jeff, the goal of Porsches turbo was not to make a small displacement engine make a lot of power NATURALLY aspirated. I could care less if it has VVT or any variation of the form. But, when the overall goal of the car company is to make a tiny ass 4 banger make 200+hp NATURALLY aspirated, then I think that boosting the engine takes away its uniqness. It is just an opinion. If I had a LS honda, I would boost it in a heartbeat. But cars like the Type R, RSX-S, GSR, and S2k are cars that would stay NA with me. Vtec, Vtech, Vtekk, Vtek, VtEc, vTeC, VtEcH, vTeKk, VTEKK, VTECH.......these all mean the same thing, all rice know what I am talking about

I'm not really about turbocharging Honda's either, but I wouldn't turn that one down if it was offered. If I had it my way I'd SC my car or leave it NA and tune the hell out of it.

Fact is Honda's done a good job at that (making a lot of power). Problem is there just isn't much more to be had without forced induction.

What's the difference between variable cam timing and variable valve timing?

VVT is described in the first paragraph while VCT is represented in the second paragraph.

variable cam timing and variable valve timing are the same thing, just different methods for the same result.

Yeah, I just realized that.....I was using Vtec as an example of VVT but it also has variable lift. So yeah, I guess they are the same.
