Ok, those of you who were here to shoot the video tonight know just how much the cops fucked us over. We couldn't really get any great shots consistently though I do believe Jon got a few good ones in. Should we plan to finish this next tuesday or are we just calling it quits. Jon what do you have to say about this? Are you satisfied with what you have to work with?

Tonight sucked, and mostly no one cooperated. Even the stuff we have is crap, it's too dark in most of the shots, etc.

I dunno, maybe we can get some better stuff later, I'm not that mad but tonight in my mind was 90% failure. You guys have to be more patient, and can't freak out when cops come, etc. The only good stuff we have is chappy running past the camera, and other stupid crap like that lol.

yeah I have a cam and totally agree that we need to get some more shots next week. It needs to be more organized and people need to cooperate more and JUST GET IT DONE! This isn't over and guys, Jon makes some really great videos, so lets finish this off next week! If it takes more than that then it will! Lets just do this thing right, it'll be worth it!

If you don't like what we have, wait and brainstorm until next week then come out with a plan. Where to shoot, what to shoot, who to shoot. You know for the most part who will be there so you can even pick and choose which cars for what portion if you like. Use anything decent from tonight and combine it with next week. I would say that if you want more than just cruising ("illegal" activity) save that for the very last location where we are filming so we don't draw all that damn attention as badly. Then again we weren't really doing anything like that tonight, we just somehow drew alot of attention... cops are everywhere you don't want them so I don't know. Whatever, it'll be pretty cool no matter what.

Now that I've calmed down some...

There is a little of footage from tonight that we can use, but just a little. We'll have to use the nightshot next time so that you can see more of what's going on. We knew what we needed tonight, the planning isn't an issue. It's just that some people freaked out about the cops, people had to go home early, etc. Jon actually filmed me explaining one sequence, and to me it's amazing that you guys couldn't understand what I was saying... it had to be explained 3 times over. There were some people who were actually cooperating/patient (i.e. Adam, Trent, etc.), and it was apparent that they WANTED to make a cool video. Others though didn't seem like they wanted to be there, and they just did their own thing or chatted the entire time. Maybe some of you don't agree but IMO if that's your position then don't even show up for the video. Maybe next time we'll have the video people go off and the people who want to have a meet, can just stay back at the parking lot to cut up, etc. Making a video takes patients, hard work, and 100% cooperation... and it's well worth it in the end.

Oh and Adam, everyone can help organize/input their ideas... no one said otherwise.

Lastly, no offence to Jon. I personally suck at editing and know nothing about it, but next time I'll prolly be doing the actual filming because I feel I'm better at that and can hold the camera more steadily.

Regarding Locke's (addosX's) impatience, this is exactly what i was talking about. I can't say i blame him for getting a little bothered but this is EXACTLY why i told all of you to bring your patience! This kinda stuff is NEVER easy ESPECIALLY when you have more that 5 cars. Its like trying to solder with terrets, everything gets fucked up. I've had a bit of experience with this stuff so i pretty much knew what we were getting into beforehand. I had assumed this was going to take longer than one night, especially if we want to make this something we can really be proud of... SO:
videotaping will resume throughout this entire week with INDIVIDUAL cars We will more than likely resume next tues as well.

sounds good, I definately was looking forward to tonight and now next week as well. I think it will be alot more organized next week and people will know to cooperate a little better and perhaps talk to the cops and security gaurds instead of jumping in the cars and running. If you are one of those people out there that just don't give a shit about the video, then stay out of it. On whatever night we actually do this (I am busy the rest of this week/out of town this weekend) I say we set up on RTJ. As we said before, it will look really really good on film, and we are out of everyone's way assuming that we don't go into the resort parking lot again ^_^. That road will look great with cars going around different turns from different angles (and close up). There is also some sort of lighting that will look really good. Does that camera have any kind of control as far as contrast? With that bit of lighting and some contrast changes we can pull off some nice looking shots.

Anyways, that road will look fantastic. Also, that big curve where Alex and I passed the Galant (the newer section), I think making some passes looks good there too just holding the camera towards the back and letting cars come around the galant and fly by the camera as we go up the hill. That would be a nice shot too I think just because of the pretty extreme corkscrew (not sure hwo "extreme" it will look on flim, but cool enough if the camera car goes really slow).

And finally, another nice trick is of course holding the camera out beside the front wheel as the car takes some nice turns on RTJ. My wheels look good on film ( :roll: :lol: ) as do many others.

Just some thoughts. (And jon probably thought all this already, I'm just going for that whole "PLAN" thing we talked about :) )

There was a lot of great footage in there but DAMN, its like night and day when i hand the camera over to you! I am far too shaky and i clearly ruined some really great shots (like michael flying by me in the median!) Horrible, i refuse to hold another camera unless its REALLY HEAVY
