Allright I'll make it plain and simple. I'll list the major disadvantages then the advantages.
DISADVANTAGES:
- Insurance
- Rattles Alot
- Weigh alot
- Stock clutches usually don't last for more than 60k
- Oil changes suck ass (oil filter is hard to reach)
- Stock suspension is real soft and has alot of body roll
- Rear subframe rips out if you put in a larger rear sway bar
- No headroom
- '98-'01 Integras are the most stolen cars right now
- Cheap exhausts all sound like shit
- Everyone has one
- Not designed for drag strip
- Old style suspension (has been around since at least '88 )
- Shifter sits low on the floor
- Replacement parts are expensive
- Front wheel drive
- Bad wheel hop
- Old design (around since '94)
- Can't fit wide tires under it
- Small displacement N/A motor
- Cheap interior
- Weak synchros
- An overpriced Civic
ADVANTAGES:
- Decent power to weight ratio
- Plenty of parts
- They make them in Supersonic Blue Pearl :pimp:
- Good potential all around
- It's got VTEC, y0
- Honda reliability
If you have any questions just ask. I'll try to think of more pros/cons later and will add them.

ok, I know everyone gets a off topic on this board, but i would say that half of your posts are about your neon...which might in theory be ok  , but considering it isn't a means of transportation anymore and definately not performance...it really has no relevance anymore at all. It would the equivalent of me relating all posts back to my '91 s10 that went up in flames(literally). but i dont cause I dont live in the past.
as George Carlin might exclaim: "It happened back there, quit living in the past."
This is all i will post and now back on topic to the pros and cons of overpriced civics. btw...i like tegs very much.

Oh and i would take a GSR any day over a del sol or any other civic for that matter, if I had the oppurtuinity. More torque than a B16. More everything than a D16. In general a great platform to work off of. great looks. Great car IMO.

Even over a hybrid??

thanks to everyone that has posted. i'd still keep the sol, it's paid for so there is really no reason to ditch it. this gsr belongs to a friend of mine and she only wants 11k for it. 34k on the odo. your right wiggie...insurance will be my worst enemy!

yes i would take a gsr over a del sol hybrid any day. Just personal preference, and I would take a gsr over some civic hybrids, but not all.

I'm very glad that someone feels that way...about the neon being in the past.

shit, i'd love to see that too....still trying to get a lower rate on insurance. doesn't look real great right now. :( all my points come off in december, maybe that will help.
Try Geico. Its like 30% less than my old carrier. Ive been with them through a wreck and a major theft and they've been real good. A little hint though.
You know the commercial says "a 15 minute call could save you 15%"??
well, keep them on the phone for an hour, and you could save 60%, get it? nevermind. bad joke

Unless you are on the receiving side of the wreck with one of their customers. It took me about a month and a half to get my money.

your insurance will be high regardless. I mean all that within your first how many years of having a liscense???

Depends on what you consider cheap. I've been with them for about four years now and I pay $82.00 a month for full coverage, but the quote they gave me for the teg was $372.00 a month. I know I could get that down if I raised my deductable, but not really sure if I want to do that right now. BTW that price is for the sol and the integra.

parking tickets aren't shit...its a fact of life here. but what about the warrents?? I am nosy. I know about speeding tickets. I have had three but have been driving a bit longer than you too.
After i guess my engine built/turbo installed, im gonna have like a >300hp car and still pay $82/month for insurance. boy, am i cool or what?
Jessie has warrants because they found seven people buried in her yard. I thought everybody knew that.
