I also bought an H23 and a blank H23 block. I should have it all within the next two weeks, then 6-9 months of building up

I wouldn't be much help, but I can run to the frig for the beer while you guys are working out in the sun.
Mmmm...
Forced Induction..... drool.....
If you want some help count me in...
I'll bring my camera so you can document the build-up
(Was just thinking. You could probably already have a camera considering you already have photos up :D)
Thanks for all the offers, im sure i'll take you all up on it. I'll supply the beer.
Im gonna be sending different parts off to get crap done to them. (port, polish, balancing, sletc.) Im entertaining the idea of making it a 2.5L. Might as well, seeing as im pretty much re-doing everything anyways. Its going to be a long process that involves a lot of eating ramen. Ive got a lot of bills to pay, so its going to take a loong time to get everything done, but its gonna be one mean mother when everything is finished. Ive decided to go "all-go". All my neat ICE accessories are almost all sold. Big thanks goes out to Chris AKA Silvarain for helping me out countless times in the past couple weeks. His black 4g lude is going to be pretty damn phat too.
I'll keep everybody updated. Nothing is probably gonna happen in the next 6-10 weeks as i'll be paying shit off and saving up enough to get the bottom end machining started.
(Was just thinking. You could probably already have a camera considering you already have photos up :D)
those are the guy whose selling the turbo pics. I just sent the check, so i should be seeing my turbo shit late next week. I do have a digi tho :D

Heh, you make me want FI now..bastard :D
I guess I'll just leave this J-H22A alone for now...
I'll have to pick a t3/t4 of my own now just to keep up with you
its going to take more than some gibberish combination of numbers and letters to keep up with ME

You mind if I throw that turbo on the bike while you are preping the block? :D
lemme think about it. no. hehe i should be receiving my shat hopefully before next weekend
I think im going to go ahead and install it on my F22 and run real light boost until the H23 gets built. Its gonna cost an asssss to get that thing built the way i want.

Perhaps it'll cost you an ass or two, perhaps not. Be sure to do plentya research first, measure twice, cut once, etc etc.
too bad its going to waste on a honda.... :D
yeah, i did some research and found out that a turbo will increase the horsepower, so im bolting it onto the intake to make more air go in there. just kidding, its going to be a long, drawn out, tedious, research intensive project costing way more money than i should be spending. As far as the f22, im just going to slap it on there with low boost until the h23 is built. Im definitly not going to half-ass it.
about the honda remark...nevermind, i was going to be mean...but i wont. I need to stay on your good side in case i need help getting groceries or dropping kids off at soccer practice.
Kit is in GA right now. Should be here tomorrow. W00t!

So are you going to start working on it this weekend? How long do you think the whole process will take? Just curious. It should be bad ass when finished! :metalhea:

Here's the overall plan:
Install turbo kit on my F22 while i build up my h23. (resleeved, rods, pistons, polished crank, valves, springs and maybe a P&P)
I also still need IC piping and a BOV and a MANUAL BOOST CONTROLLER CHRIS!
Depending on the shape of the turbo, i might get it rebuilt, or try to rebuild it myself.
It'll probably be about 4-6 weeks before i can afford the IC piping and BOV. There's also the matter of finding out if the H23 manifold can be used on my F22.
So, if all goes well, i'll start on putting it on the F22 in early december, running 5psi max.
By next fall/winter, I hope to have the H23 done and all hell's gonna break loose.
I still havent decided if im gonna make it a total sleeper or not. I need some shocks springs sometime too

From what I know, you will need a new manifold when you install it on the H23. I just remeber learning that everything else fits except the manifold. I may be wrong but just trying to help :)

Its a drag II kit for the H23, so it should fit (unless there's something wrong with it). Im going to try to fit the H23 manifold on the F22, if thats possible. If not, a friend of mine knows a guy that can convert a header to a manifold with a turbo flange on it

All he is saying is that that turbo is happy around 18psi.........which you will not be running on your F22, and I am not sure if your going to run that much on your H23(are you builing it for boost or just to get it running?). You see, use boosted boys would kill for that turbo, we can run 20psi all day long and with that turbo it would very fun. You had better watch, Kenny has a modified GN turbo on the brick now........that means when he finally blows the engine, rebuilds it, and boosts in the upper teens with that turbo, it is going to be grocery getter revenge night

Yeah, im definitly gonna build the H23 for boost and im not even gonna put that motor in until its fully built. I dont know about 18psi, but at least 10-12. I dont make a lot of money and ive got some debt, so its going to take a loooong time. Fuel management and good tuning aint cheap either. Ive got a list of most of the stuff I need (parts/labor). It's too discouraging to look at, but im sure you've got an idea of what kind of money im talking about. UPS update: its on a truck for delivery :)
i havent gotten a good look at kenny's setup yet. I stumbled across a few 'brick' sites yesterday. I never knew they existed. I thought it was a term kenny made up. You never know with those crazy open-source people ;)
Kenny - next time i see you, could i get a ride in the brick?

Thats a good thing, because it wouldn't run if it wasn't fully built. :P

The ol' brick ain't that fast... Now if you wanna make this a battle of the built motors  I'm all up for that, but it'll be a while before I get all the things that need to be done done..(gotta find an svo transmission, an lsd, some spare $1k bills, and a few other ultra-rare volvo parts that no one seems to have for free....)
but sure, if you want i'll give you a ride... its not that special..

Dont worry, its going to be forever-and-a-day before its built, unless i win the lottery or slip on a wet floor. Im hoping to have the turbo installed on my existing motor within a month or so, I just gotta find some directions. if all else fails, i can mount the turbo in the trunk and run gardening hoses from the muffler and intake to it.
Oh by the way, the turbo, manifold, wastegate,IC,FMU,fuel pump and misc hoses are currently stinking up my living room. does it bother me?
HELL NO!

Directions?! whats wrong with you? You just bolt that shit up and it works! honest! (no need for oil, thats what gets em hot anyway! :D)
if you're just going for light pressure(low boost) its really just a bolt on and run operation.. you'll need to find a source to feed the turbo (oil presure sending unit ports work very well for this...) and you'll probably need to cut a hole in the oil pan for an oil return. Past that, I'd loosen up the wastegate actuator as much as possible(low boost), run the piping, and let rip.
it would help to have an air/fuel gauge hooked up if you don't already, and a good ear for nasty sounding things.
My wastegate comes with a 6.5psi spring. im not sure how low it will go. I found a place that sells 3-5psi springs for that wastegate, so i'll pick up one of those bitches.
Im still not clear on which oil line is the input and which is the output. Here's a pic: EDIT: left side is a nipple, right is a threaded fitting. Im guessing that the nipple is the return.
http://67.33.14.41/turbo/oil.jpg
I need to pick up some hardware to make an oil return in the oil pan. Any suggestions. Im pretty sure i need a 5/8ths hose (which ive already got), so my guess is just go to lowes and looks for something that would work with a 5/8 nipple. hehe, i said nipple, hehe i said it again
Im goin to try to get some help and get my bumper off today to figure out where the intercooler is going (im leaning towards the front of the car). Once I get that figured out, im going to make some IC piping out of empty pixie stix or some 2.25" exhaust stuff from autozone. I have a bunch of couplers, i just gotta make sure they'll work with 2.25
