Hello SCAR, It's CPMaverick from the 'other' AU club :mrgreen:
Just letting the new board know that there is a Birmingham Auto-X Aug 25th at the Birmingham Race Course. Auburn will be bringing its FSAE cars there. I don't know how auto-x oriented SCAR is but if you want to try it its a lot of fun in any car. And if you want to see the FSAE cars in action or are considering joining the team this year this is a good chance.

How much is it to run if you aren't an SCCA member?
I am planning on going and hopefully bringing some people as well.

Not sure yet, probably most of the team unless something comes up. We can have up to 12 drivers if we bring both cars, and people like to come if they get to drive :twisted:

i visited the site and its for sure now, i am definitly going. damn i can't wait. what kind of cars would i be facing. i have coilovers, cai, exhaust, and 17's on 225/45 tires. also do we run solo II or what?

yeah i know i won't win, but i have wanted to do this for a long time. my car handles really good and has excellent low end. its just the brakes i'm worried about. :cry:

Just put something down. Probably STX or STS. It doesn't matter. You can change it when you get there.

You can't do fun runs unless you run in the event. I'm almost positive on this because there would be alot of people just showing up at the end to run for a buck. Oh and sometimes they time you and sometimes they don't. If they are ready to start getting things cleaned up they won't.
I'll probably be leaving around 5:30am or so.

Doing the fun runs was the only reason I was going to go, and 5:30 is pretty fuckin early.

Well I'm meeting up with a few guys at the gas station where college hits 280 at about 6:10 to head on up that way.
Oh and I guess you guys that don't go are going to miss out on seeing the McLaren F1 that Bryce Donald is bringing to the meet from Atlanta. Who would want to see that piece of junk run anyways?

The event was fun, we could have been better but overall it was fun, looking forward to next months event, hopefully we can really show what the cars are capable of.
