View Full Version : Birmingham Autox...
I was informed yesterday evening that there is supposed to be an Autox November 7th in Birmingham. I will plan on being there, anyone else want to go. Also, there will be a "drivers education" event at TGP in mid/late November. Hopefully I can scrape together enough $$$$ to make both events. No doubt for those that want some roadcourse experience, TGP is the one your after.

I might be at the AutoX, not sure though. And I def. want to try to go to the TGP thing, but I doubt I'll have a license which they probably require.

Hey, can you explain TGP? I desperately want some roadcourse experience. But then again, I don't want to wreck my car and not have insurance cover it :D

Then don't push it too hard. It kicks ass... basically the only road course you can drive on anywhere near here w/out being in Solo I, which costs a ton of money and has strict regulations like fire equip., etc.

Alabama SCCA website (http://www.alscca.org/)
Talladega Grand Prix Raceway (http://www.tgprace.com/)
There should be some stuff about the DE event on there tomorrow. I think it is limited to 30 cars, so if you want to do it, register asap. Cost is $150.
Solo II is on the 7th and the old Birmingham Race Course (horse or dogs or someother animal track, pretty damn abandoned from the looks of it) on the east side of town off of 459. The cost is 20 bucks I think.

Ohh, the Talladega GP, yeah, I've been there before. It was a fun day, but it was a Prelude meet. And I was too young to drive. Oh wait, and I had the J30 :D

I finished 2nd in G-Stock in my first autox ever. Down 2 seconds to a early 90's 240 with race tires. I did not think it a bad performance for me as I was on my OE Summotos. My fastest time was 82.3 seconds.
