If you guys have been looking for a good multiplayer game this is it. Doesn't hurt if your an X-men fan either.
Some of you might remember the awesome X-men arcade machine from way back in the day. Side-scroller, 4 player, and lots of fun. Well imagine that game only ten times better.
The fun factor lies in the depth of the characters and the nessecary use of teamwork. In a lot of games you have choices of characters but in the end it really doesn't matter which one you choose. In Legends you MUST use the different characters abilities to conquer the levels and defeat your foes. You build up the characters RPG style by leveling up via Exp. points. Their strength, defense, etc can all be tailored to your fighting style. In additon you can control how they develop their mutant powers and which areas of their power you want to focus on. Each character can use there powers in several different manners including varied attacks and special abilities.
However the best part is teaming up and tackling the levels with a few buds. I've got 3 controllers for my Gamecube and it's been a blast. You can have up to 4 players BTW.
For example: You use Wolverine to storm head first into a room. He's got awesome defense and since he has healing factor (which the game incorporates) he can take the abuse. Not to mention once he gets close to anyone they are dead within seconds. However, there are a ton of baddies rushing him from the back side of the area so you get Cyclops to adjust his beam for a wide pattern and fire off a few bursts. It doesn't do much damage, but knocks back most of the baddies giving Wolverine time to start singling them out one by one. This seems to be working great until an extremely powerful enemy mutant appears on the other side of the screen. He starts sending out immensly powerful energy waves that damage and stun. To bad he's standing across and deep chasm and you can't get Wolverine to him, Cyclops keeps getting stunned, but not that it matters because the enemy seems to be highly resistant to energy attacks.
Realizing you have to get him up close to take Nightcrawler, grab Jean Grey and teleport her over to the mutant. Jean uses her telekinetic powers to lift him into the air and drop him over the chasm right in front of Wolverine.
Cliff notes: The game is awesome.
