I'm putting this up for Bradon since he doesn't have much access to a computer at the moment.

Reasons for selling: Owner wants to go another route and doesn't have the cash or resources to support what he wanted to do with the SR20. Work, school, and another vehicle are his main priorities at the moment.

The car: A 1989 S13 SE coupe. 1991 front end. SR20DET swap. JDM LSD rear-end.

Clip/engine was purchased from Jarco.

Overview: The car is basically the ultimate project car for someone wanting to put in a little time and effort. The car CRANKS AND RUNS. The install is extremely clean. I can vouch for it myself since I helped do it. We have also installed the JDM rear end complete with LSD.

The body will need a little work. It has a few dents and dings and the hood doesn't align properly. The interior has been stripped and it doesn't have a working gauge cluster. We tried swapping the tachs from the JDM and USDM cluster, but all we could do was get it to light up. Car will also need a new alternator. It will also need new tires and alignment.

The SR20 is stock with the exception of an HKS downpipe and walbro intank fuel pump.

What you are paying for in the end: An SR20, the labor of cleanly installing it along with the JDM rear end, and an S13 coupe to go along with it.

In addition the car will also come with a spare transmission, although we are unsure of the actual condition. Think of it as a freebie (not to mention it's taking up space in my garage).

Who the car is for: Any responsible person that knows the value of a good project car and is willingly to put in some wrench time. The car WILL NOT be sold to any high school JDM wannabe drifter that just wants an SR20DET swapped car to be cool. It took a lot of time and effort to get this project to were it is and he would like to see it go to a person that will know how to handle it properly.

Think we should shoot for a higher starting offer? What would you suggest?

Definitely. I'm a little confused though... does it all work properly etc? You kind of make it sound like the car needs work... but do you just mean some body work or what? People know that Jarco is good, so they'll know the engine is good. The clips alone cost $2500-$3000, and even a shell these days goes for $1000.

If the dents and dings are the only issue, but the car runs well and is completely together, I'd say start it at more like $4500. You'll probably end up around what you're wanting though.

Also, try to find out the gearing on that JDM LSD, I think it's 3.91 but that's just off the top of my head... it's a little taller than the USDM, better for 'wangan'.

A lot of people want to do it themselves, but more don't. And the installation alone for the engine is almost a grand... so you should easily get $4000.
