Cd Tray

the cd tray on my laptop keeps popping out, and i havent dropped it or anything, it will just sit their for a few seconds and then it will just pop out, and after about six or seven tries, it stays in for a second. then just pops out again. Any ideas?

Go to AU Install (can access it from http://www.auburn.edu/students/) and download McAfee. Chances are you got a Trojan and someone is messin with you. Or it could be someone is VNC'd into your computer and is just popping it open that way. Look for the program WinVNC and make sure it isn't installed.

I would run ad-aware and any other anti-virus software I could get my hands on, like O-Bike said.

Other simple stuff...
1. reboot
2. get the latest cd-rom driver from the cd-rom manufacture or laptop manufacture
3. remove and reinstall (physically) the cd-rom

not so much worried about it now, laptop fell off counter top, i guess it was time for an upgrade anyway.

ummm...as of righ now,the space bar, and some other keys are pretty much gone,the cd rom fell out,the screen is all blurry, and some other stuff. I dont know,i will have to stick it out for a while with this one for while...:(

ok its official my laptop is dead. I tried to turn it on this morning, and it started making some crazy noises, and then smoke started coming from the back and the sides, so i'd say its done for
