I got a ibm think pad today, from a friend, and it has linux on it, i dont really know how to use linux, so the question is, is there anyway to put xp or something like that on it.
1. Get an XP CD
2. Insert into Drive
3. Boot up
4. Follow instructions
5. Profit
Laptops are have always been a bit problematic with drivers and linux..
If you want to just play and not worry about screwing something up go download Knoppik. It will run directly from the CD and won't touch and of the hard drive so it's a safe "lets just see what all this linux is all about"
If you want to just go ahead and dive in... Go download Fedora Core (whatever it is now, 3 I think)...
Shit... I thought you wanted linux on it...
Do what Jess says...
Can I guess who you got it from? (I'm looking at you kenny)

yeah, that't better than spending $200+ on a new full xp version. I hate xp anyway. I used advanced server 2000 for all my PC's except my laptops of course, I use xp and xp tablet pc. Yeah, I wouldn't reccommend running server 2k on a lappy ; ) Bah, partition it and learn some linux : )
